Went in with a friend`s car to get a second opinion on a suggested battery replacement by some other shop in the area. Seeing the positive reviews, from telephone to front door, these boys were the friendliest, most helpful and patient guys in this business. Without hesitation, they came out and did a full workup on the car and instead of other shops that want to replace everything that shows any wear on it at all, t... view morehese guys were straight with me and told me the battery checked out just fine and could foresee some computer technical issues going on and could run a bunch of diagnostic tests but to avoid running me out of all that money, they suggested sometime to take it to a specialized dealer, have them use their special access into the computer and have them find the problem and then come back if I liked them with a 100% assured identification of the real problem. Jeopardizing potentially easy, fast cash, they seem to value honest bussiness and loyal relationships with their clientele. I would recommend this place to everyone looking for a mechanics/car repair men, look no further!

I read the positive reviews for this place, so I stopped in with a boat solenoid I was struggling with. It is a 1964 boat and when I walked in Tim recognized it for what it was instantly. Good start I thought. I got the part at a Johnson dealer and assumed it was identical to the original. Not necessarily, Tim explained. He metered and powered both the old one and new one and explained the differences. I made the call and he had me add a ground wire to the proper terminal and voila` it cranked over! I never would have figured it out myself. American...I had heard of the great reputation of these guys but had never used them prior to this past week. I can`t say enough possitive words about them. They could not have treated me better by fixing my starter for me as I watched. They did not charge me for parts that other companies may have done to simply make more money on there customers. Highly Recommend! The cost of ...

Highly Recommend! The cost of having my starter rebuilt was roughly 1/2 what it would cost to replace it, PLUS i didnt toss anything into the landfill. Im thankfull these guys are in business, It really felt good in our disposable society, reducing reusing and recycling, and I SAVED $130 (not to mention the funny postings on the wall in the lobby) ,Thanks Guys

He comes out before he would let me buy the starter and hooks up a bunch of testing equipment and told me that it was most likely another problem. FAST, FRIENDLY, SERVICE! This place has all your altenator, starter and battery needs at the best prices! Good price, treated well

My starter (2000 Ford Windstar) went out in bad weather. I had trouble getting a definitive ?ˆ?good?ˆ? or ?ˆ?bad?ˆ? result from any of the usual car parts stores. A friend recommended American Performance Electric. Due to the snowstorm & traffic, I wasn`t going to make it to American Performance Electric before they closed. When I called to tell them that, they said they`d hang around until I got there. When I a... view morerrived, one of the employees was out brushing the snow off of his car so he could leave. Although he was already out for the evening, he stopped what he was doing to open the door to the building for me and show me where to go. Inside, they were able to tell me quickly that my starter was indeed bad, and show me what was wrong with it. They had a starter ready for me. The price was the best I?ˆ™d received after calling all of the standard auto parts places. Everyone at American Performance Electric was easy going and respectful - not condescending like you sometimes see from other car guys & other stores. All in all, a great experience - this will definitely be my first stop for these kind of parts from now on.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST!

I have a 1990 Buick Reatta that left me stranded on Christmas Eve with a bad alternator. I was about to have the car towed to the dealer on the other side of town. The recommended repair shop had closed early due to the holiday. Then the tow driver suggested American Performance Electric. Tim is fantastic! When I arrived, he discovered he did not have the proper alternator in stock as he had stated on the ph... view moreone. My heart sank. However, ?ˆ?no problem,?ˆ? he said. ?ˆ?I?ˆ™ll have to rebuild yours, it will take a little longer.?ˆ? In approximately 1 hour, he rebuilt and installed my alternator. It looked brand new. Not only did he save me $200, I got a 2 year warranty! He also replaced my turn signal flasher unit so my signal lights are working again. As the owner of a 20 year old car, trust me when I say it is extremely rare to find high quality, honest AND friendly service shops. I highly recommend these guys (Tim and Max). I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
