I`ve been going to these guys ...

I`ve been going to these guys for the last 10 years since I moved my family out here. I`ve spent thousands of dollars for tires and repairs on the 4 cars that myself my wife and 2 boys own and have owned. I would have never questioned what these guys were telling me was wrong until the last 3 or 4 visits. The first time I questioned them was really no big deal, I took my wife`s escort in for tires and was told that h... view moreer windshield wiper blades were bad. I had just replaced them the day before, so I declined them. It wasn`t that big of a deal, but it did get me thinking. The next time about 3 months later I went with my oldest some again for tires on his car. He was told that he needed a wheel bearing and in fact it was so bad they recommend that he not leave without getting it replaced. Cost for wheel bearing $328 dollars and change. My oldest some works part time while attending school, so I offered to fix it for him. As we were talking I asked if he could hear any kind of grinding when he was driving it and he said no. I know a wheel bearing in that bad of shape would make some type of grinding sound, so I told the sales guy to hold off on the bearing and just do tires. The salesman then told me that if we got it done, he could TAKE OFF $100.00 dollars, i was shocked and declined his offer. When the tires were put on his car and we left, we stopped in to I think it was auto lab just down the street. I showed the man Belle Tires estimate and he agreed to check out the car to verify the wheel bearing. After about an hour wait my son`s car was looked at and then told he had no problems with any wheel bearings and everything looked and felt nice and tight on his front end. The 3rd time was on my youngest son`s car. Belle Tire diagnosed his problem for x amount of dollars, I had him leave without getting the work done. My son told his friend`s dad bought the Tuffy muffler shop in Howell and he wanted to take it there. I agreed and although Belle had the problem diagnosed correctly, Belle Tire was going to charge an extreme amount of money. My son got his car fixed for $150.00 less than the estimate. Some thing has change at Belle Tire, I`m not sure what it is, but I am cutting my ties with them. I will get an estimate for tires, then shop elsewhere for them as well. If you get any kind of mechanical work estimated their you may want to get a second or even third opinion before you have the work performed. Excellent service, reasonable prices and they had my brakes done in no time! I`ve been to this shop several times for different services and have always had a good experience.
