Editorial review from Citysearch
Worst service I have yet to experience. Had car towed to the Herb Chambers BMW dealer in Allston with what I thought was a transmission problem. They quoted me for a new transmission. Thank god I went for a second opinion. I ended up finding out it was a wiring problem and cost me a couple hundred dollars to fix. Im surprised that the service writer, Nick, still has a Job. He was rude, unprofessional and couldnt even... view more explain the diagnosis other than the transmission just needed to be replaced. If your paying $120 and hour you deserve some sort of explanation. Never again will I go there and i strongly recommend someone who things about going there to try somewhere else. Thanks and good luck.

Service department sucks
This establishment is not what they say they are, my 2002 BMW x5 had a small electrical fire, call my insurance company they suggest some outside shop to do the work. With the bmw standard and reputation that this company preceive i thought i`ll have them do the work, because the are bmw expert well that didn`t go very well, the work was sloppy and incomplete. They forget to attached the censor wire to my expansion t... view moreank they wire the car back together and forget to snyc my remote to my key. I made a complaint to the service advisor he goes by the first name Jim don`t know his last name and instead of apologise he denied that it was the technician who worked on the vehicles fault and told me that someone else worked on the vehicle and that my key was not working in the first place. Then on top of all that i paid the deductible by check, two days later i check my balance in my checking account to find that Herb Chambers had cashed my check for my deductible and went and did an electronic debit from my account causing my account to be under significantly. Now i ask the question what kind of a professionalism is this action from a company with a reputation such as Herb Chambers and i didn`t even get an apology but thet got paid $3500.00 so they took my money and did a lousy job on my car. I will not only wouldn`t recomend anyone to this business but i will not do business with them any longer.

disrespectful and dismissive attitude to potential customer
reached out via website to get a quick quote and arrange a test drive of a model in inventory in the Sudbury Herb Chambers BMW. Have been a longstanding Audi customer looking at other options. We went in on Sunday and never even got to see a sales person. Then I happened to go into the Boston showroom and found the model. Reached out again via email to arrange a test drive, set an appointment, brought the family ... view moreand was greeted very kindly. However was told test drives were only possible upon payment of a deposit, which we accepted. Salesperson went to check with the GM and came back with the news that no test drives would be allowed. I would normally say this was a complete waste of time but its hopefully beneficial to others considering purchasing at this company. Its too big and too arrogant. Suggest looking elsewhere.

Inferior Customer Service - Unresponsive
Oh my God, I`ve never had to call so many times to find out if my car was ready. Dropped it off Wednesday - didn`t hear until the next day (after I`d left three messages) whether it was ready. Friday they call to say it`s ready - yeah great, I`m away for the weekend. Monday I pick it up and have to wait HALF AN HOUR while they ""wash"" it. Hello? You had the car five days! I`m a very patient person, and the r... view moreeward for my patience was complete disrespect. I`ll be taking my business elsewhere

European delivery a fun experience
We shopped for a new car for a few months. We looked at Lexus, BMW, and Infiniti. At BMW of Peabody they kept trying to sell us pre-owned (used) when we specifically said we wanted new. They also didn`t know what they were selling. At Ira Lexus they wanted to know about us and had a stupid questionaire. We told them we were interested in a white IS 250. The sales idiot said they didn`t have any. When looking at the c... view morears I saw a white metallic car on the lot. The sales idiot corrected me and said that isn`t white, it`s arctic mist. OK it is whie with a blue tinge. If I were selling cars I would say how about this white color? After visiting other dealers we finally ended up at Herb Chambers BMW and were helped by Nick. In contrast to all the other car sales idiots we dealt with, Nick knew the answers to all our questions and if he had a question he found someone that knew the answer and got right back to us. After driving cars and figuring out what we wanted we decided to order a car and do European delivery. Nick took care of the order, and when we picked up the car in Munich it was exactly what we wanted. So far the only drawback to this experience is that the dealership doesn`t have a decent delivery area, nor a parking lot. We also have been unable to obtain touch-up paint for the car and that is backordered through BMW, so not really their fault. If you want a BMW stop by and ask for Nick to see if you can do a deal. Even if you don`t buy the car you will at least be dealing with a competent professional salesman.

sleasy car salesmanship in its best
Sales guy (Ahmed? not sure, Middle Eastern guy) was arrogant, decieivng (pretended car was not in stock), played hard to get. sold a car that was on the floor under disguise that it was not a showroom car. pressured to sign blank papers and squeezed a high charge in it we did not agree upon. essentially - all the sleasy tricks you hear about. r o tten palce. when I bought my last car (Honda) i haven`t seen anything e... view moreven close i Honda dealership (Weymouth). never coming back to buy anything else. don`t advise anyone either.

Check with the Better Business , before shopping here
How many times should you bring back a new car for the same problem? I know the parts made in china and need to be shipped via Germany. Oil change $385. The car has been in the shop now for over 7 weeks trying to fix the same problem. I will never go back there. We are off to BMW West.

Poor service!
Nice sale guy, Sheraz.
Service is extremely spotty. I would recommend driving out to Foreign Motors West.
Service department is overwhelmed at HC. Often can`t get a straight answer from anyone.

Fast and Excellent service
My BMW had been through a rough winter of potholes and needed a lot of under carriage work done along with other service needed. They fixed my car like new in less than two days. It was expensive - but these cars only work well with BMW parts. The service people were kind, understanding, gave me whatever break they could and when I picked it up, they had washed it spotless - like off the show room. I had been to ... view moreother dealerships and private car shops - Herb Chambers had the best service. I personally would like to thank my rep. Mr. Marini for being so patient and helpful.

Aggessive sales
I went in for a test drive, everything was good, some small annoying details like: I waited for 15 minutes for the car to be ready because the sales man needed a cigarette breaks (without letting you know first but shows up late with strong cigarette smells), answering other clients call while talking to you; answering GIRLFRIEND`s call while talking to you.... These are still fine but the worst part is they gave me... view more a 5000 dollars less trade-in value comparing to edmunds and later willing to match because I mentioned that I have actually did a research (which implies they wanted to take my advantage first?!), and then when I said I needed to think about it and get back to them within a few days, the sales man was threatening me that the car will be gone... he cannot believe that I won`t make the deal even though everything is perfect... he cannot believe that I, as a mature adult, will need my parents or my husband`s second opinions.... I think they are used to face clients like the rich college kids bring their parent`s check book and they forgot there are regular young professionals who deserve a few days of consideration and, being treated like a normal human being. Although they are high-end BMW dealer in the city but their service is way worst then Honda or Toyota dealer on Route 1.
