will never use again

went for a quick brake job, tried to sell more work needed (re: oil change, wiper blades etc), seems typical these days, trying to make an extra buck in a slow economy.
Employees were rude & disrespectful, with remarks that could be deemed harassing in nature to some people.
Pricing was typical for repairs done. Shop is far from clean, I understand it is a garage but I have seen much cleaner, I wonder if they... view more own a broom?
The only redeeming quality was the repair was done in a timely manner. Not impressed at all, I wont use them again.

rude & unprofessional

We had our car repaired here for convenience, because it was close by when the car acted up, they said they could repair it that day & reviews incorrectly gave it 5 stars.
A very unprofessional establishment, one of the older mechanics doesnt speak much, ignoring the customers almost completely. Another older man, claiming to be the owner, maked many off-color jokes some of which are a bit harassing in nature, ... view moreall very rude & insulting. My wife was extremely uncomfortable. Somehow he finds himself funny. There is a time & place for some jokes, in a place of business durig work hours, around customers is imappropriate. He stated he was a `cook`, not a mechanic. There is a younger person there who appears to be fresh out of school. Obviously still learning himself, I wonder just how knowledgable they are.
The shop is loud & dirty. Our car was more dirty when they were done than when it went in. It was also covered in greasy handprints.
Of course there was the usual `upsell` of repairs, things they found needing to be done while fixing the actual problem.
The price was average for the repair, we did some comparative pricing after.
Apparently the reviews on Citysearch are very old and the place has changed greatly. perhaps new owners, or they just no longer care..
We will not go back there again.

highly recommend

I`m hesitant to write this review, fearing that if word gets out about how great these guys are, more people will start bringing their cars to them and I`ll have to start making appointments for my auto repairs days in advance. They know their stuff

I had called around to get some work done on my ol 55 chevy...NOBODY would touch it. A local speed shop gave me their number. I gotta tell you these guys are the real thing. The different cars in their place was incredible, my 55 was the oldest, but they had cars from the , 70`s, and 2000`s, a bmw and a roadrunner? In the same place? These guys are great

These guys are great - they are fast, reliable, and don`t gouge. I have gotten at least 3 co-workers to start going there, and they all agree. SS has my business for life.
