Dependable, competent, and fair
I`ve known NIck for many years, as we grew up
in the same neighborhood just a few miles west
of Boston. My wife literally grew up with him.
I migrated about 15-miles further West to the
town of Natick just 10 years ago this summer.
The need for a mechanic in town is how my wife
and I found out Nick had also moved to Natick.
For several years I didn`t drive a car. Period.
And my wife began bringin... view moreg her Land Rover to
the husband of a co-worker for service and
repairs.
I resumed driving about a year ago. For the last
year, I`ve used the mechanic who installed the
ignition interlock in my car: The interlock is
a story in itself.
But...
About four weeks ago, my automatic transmission
began leaking fluid. To cut the story short,
I got jerked around by the interlock guy and
a tranny specialist. Days became weeks, while
driving my car became a protracted period of
misery miles: The transmission slipping up and down
the gear-set, burning gas like a Boeing 767.
Then I came to! I thought, "Whoa, I can call Nick Brown."
I took the car to Nick`s in the morning, and picked
it up after work. He said, "As soon as I put
the car on the lift, I saw the problem." I had
gouged two small holes in the transaxle drain
pan when I hit a curb weeks earlier.
In short, had my interlock mechanic accepted
the job or if my wife`s `New mechanic` worked
on it, they`d have had to hire a welder. If I had
let a transmission shop do the repair, I`d have
needed a co-signer to finance the cost.
But Nick does his own welding. In summary:
Nick`s Repair is a full service auto and motorcycle
repair shop. The charge for my repair was
well under $200, which is much, much more than
a fair charge. I can say, in all sincerity, that
I plan to take my car(s) to Nick`s Repair from
now on.
