PS. Given that business response below, you know they are just a$$holes working there. The battery was way too much and batteries are usually warrantied. I hope that unscrupulous business goes out of business. My story is down below (2006) where they ivercharged for AC diagnostic and messed up the window plus a year later, the car`s engine went kaput. I think they added sugar in the tank or something. Anywa... view morey, the US post office in Enfield is their customer. Porcello`s was bragging to me about good they were since US Post office hired them.. Anyway, call the post office and tell them that Porcello should not have a contract with the US govt considering how crooked they are. I called after reading all of your reviews. I was hoping this company goes out of business after what they did to our car back in 2006.

This is by far the WORST experience I have had with mechanics. I read the previous bad reviews and the UNSATISFACTORY rating by the Better Business Bureau. However, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt hoping my experience was different, IT WAS NOT. They assessed my car and quoted prices for the parts upcharging MORE THAN THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. When I asked about the discrepancy in prices, I was told that... view more "this was a business for profit" and he had the right to do so. In a fit of desperation, I reluctantly agreed to let them do the the work. It took them a week and a day to complete something that would have routinely taken two days. THEY ORDERED THE WRONG PART 3 TIMES and then demanded payment in cash only after the car was complete while the Visa logo is on the door. STAY FAR FAR AWAY. I would never take my car to Purcello NOR would I recommend this business to anyone. Take hee

Thieves
Porcello`s towed my car and mysteriously when it was in their possession my GPS disappeared from my car.

My car was locked and has a security system. It was apparent my car was not broken into and they were the only ones that had the keys.

When I called to inquire about my GPS the Manager was rude and disrespecful. If my car was broke down in front of their facility, I would have it towed else where! ... view more

Disgusted! I gave them a chance to return the GPS before writing this review. They choose to insult me and tell me I must of lost it. If this was the only place in Enfield you could use, I would call another town and pay the extra money! They can`t be trusted.

I came to Porcello`s after initially deciding to be towed to Sears for service when my car broke down at the airport. The man who came to tow my car asked me why I was going to Sears, and informed me that Porcellos also had a garage. So I decided I would go there instead, thinking it would be less expensive than Sears. However, I would strongly advise doing research before going to any shop because I was sold a batte... view morery for 95 dollars that I later learned was of very poor quality. After calling Sears to compare the price I paid, I was told that a Diehard battery, which is the top selling battery in the nation, only cost 80 dollars. In addition, I ended up paying 150 for my service all together. The employees were very friendly to me, but I would prefer a good quality battery for a more reasonable price to friendly discourse any day.

Check out www.bbb.org
Check out www.bbb.org and notice Porcello`s has an UNsatisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau. They are unethical and don`t respond to customer complaints. They charged me $50 to tow my car across their property to get it into their garage. Then they wouldn`t return my calls and didn`t respond to my BBB complaint. Mine was not the only BBB complaint they didn`t respond to.

Stay away from this scam artist!
On Thursday, July 20, 2006, I took my car to Porcello`s, Inc/Gulf Gas station on 710 Enfield Street in Enfield, CT 06082, ph#: (860) 745-7676 to have my A/C problem diagnosed for $34, the price quoted to me by the owner, Matt Porcello. Before I left the repair shop, I told Matt to call us and let us know if he finds anything. Since I hadn`t heard from them all day, I called three times to inquire about the status ... view moreand their only reply was ""the mechanic`s working on it"". At the end of the work day around 5 pm, I called again only to find out from Matt that I owe $267 for services that were done without an oral or written consent from me. Matt was given my cell and home numbers and never called for an approval to recharge the A/C for $110 plus computer/scanner work on the Check Engine Light, which is unrelated to the A/C, for about $80, and the rest is the diagnostic fee. How can a bill that`s supposed to be $34 turn into a whopping $267 and with NOTHING fixed? Needless to say, I told him to stop working on my car. When I asked Matt why he didn`t call to tell me about these ""services"" before he did them, he said he was too busy. On Monday, July 24 at 8 am, I picked up the car after coming back from a weekend trip. Instead of disputing the charge b/c I didn`t get anywhere with Matt a couple of days ago, I let the service manager, Andy, know I wanted to pick up my car and asked for the bill. The repair order now showed $150 instead of $267, probably in futile hopes that I will change my mind and let them ""finish"" the job. After 5 minutes on the phone with Matt, he came back and said we could take the car without charge - no bill, no repair order, nothing for evidence. And they sabotaged my car!!When the car was brought in, the window was working and now, while it was in their hands, it is not. Don`t trust them - you`ll be glad to stay away and tell all your friends!!
