Crooked Dealer ?ˆ“ DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!! I purchased a 2005 VW beetle for my daughter ?ˆ?in good faith?ˆ?. Within the first 200 miles of driving, both the Check Engine light (recurring theme, PLEASE READ OTHER REVIEWS) and the Check Airbag light came on! The check engine light turned out to be the catalytic converter and sensors, a $1400 repair. I wrote to the AAW stating that the car will fail Mass inspection an... view mored Bruce?ˆ™s (the worker bee at the dealer) reply was ?ˆ?good luck with that?ˆ?. I have filed a formal CT RMV complaint against them and am working with the state attorney general?ˆ™s office to try and get repairs paid for. However, the dealer will not return calls to the state attorney?ˆ™s office which I find simply amazing. For all out there that this has happened to, there is a new law in CT that says the dealer needs to give you a copy of a new safety check form to have artifacts of completion of the safety check. I did not get this document. Worst experience I have ever had buying something. These guys are just crooks!!!

I bought a truck from them, and on the second day of owning it (and only driving about 10 miles), the check engine light came on. On top of that, the truck was now leaking heavily from the rear main seal. Went back to American Auto Wholesalers with these issues to try to figure out a way to get this corrected, and they would not fix anything, as it would be ?ˆ?too costly.?ˆ™ I had to go through many strides to get all... view more of the information needed for registration, etc, which was not clear and up front from the beginning (the guy did not want to ?ˆ?sit on the phone for hours figuring out what was needed,?ˆ™ leaving it up to me to determine). Got all of the information in a scramble on the same day as requested. Went back in to discuss the issues, and the owner would not budge to do any repairs. We told him we were under the impression this was a sound car with no issues, as the sales person had told us (and from what I could tell, looked to be true). Not the case- they did not even look at the car when I dropped it off to see what the issue was, they just took it for a 2 minute drive to determine they would not do the repairs. This has been the worst car buying experience I`ve ever had. Always like to deal with honest people, but this is not the case with American Auto Wholesalers. They knew the law, and because the car was over 7 years old, I did not have a legal ground to stand on. All the owner kept saying was ?ˆ?I have been in business for 14 years.?ˆ? Don?ˆ™t know how that is relevant to our conversation whatsoever? Almost like he knew what he was doing was wrong, but would not back down. Do NOT give them business. They look out for themselves, and will not hesitate to sell you a broken vehicle, but tell you it?ˆ™s a great, reliable car. I am not the first person to have issues like this with this company, don?ˆ™t make the same mistake I did.
