If I could give zero stars, I would. These guys are crooks who will take you for everything if they can. I took my new, used car that I had purchased a month earlier from a dealer to have them go over it before a family trip. You`d think the car had just come from the junkyard with the laundry list of repairs they came up with. I was not aware of any front suspension trouble but agreed to have them do one repair... view more-replace the front strut mounts, cost $400. 12 months later my strut mounts are completely shot. Around the same time I took my wife`s car in for a check engine light for an evaporative emissions leak. They replaced the Purge Valve, cost $200. Within 7 days the check engine light was back on with the same code, same problem. My last trip to these fiends, I was getting a sporadic service engine light for a hard shift. This time I did some homework on Google. Everyone suggested replacing the Pressure Control Solenoid. So, when I take it to these guys I asked them to check that first. They said the solenoid was fine and suggested flushing the transmission fluid and replacing the transmission pan gasket and filter, cost $400. Against my better judgement and really out of desperation, I told them to go ahead. So, they did the work, cleared the code and within 24 hours the light was back on with a hard shift. Took it to the dealer who replaced the Solenoid and the problem was gone. Now, 12 months later, the gasket they replaced (which was replaced for no reason at all) is leaking fluid all over the place. I took it to a great shop (D&J Auto), just around the corner, who redid all the work K&S had botched for 40% less. The moral of the story: stay far, far away from these scoundrels.

I have been taking my Volvo`s ...
I have been taking my Volvo`s to K and S Associates for many years and highly recommend K & S for both mechanical and body work. K & S consistently provides quality work at competitive prices. The service technicians are easy to talk to and provide reliable information on the cost for repairs.

Worst Auto Repair Place in Town
It`s hard to find a mechanic that won`t rip you off. I swear that the guys up front get paid commission to on what they can get the customers to pay. I told them that I wanted them to use my parts and just pay labor. I buy it for 200 bucks they want to charge me 750. Anyhow, I get them to put my parts in and then they tell me, well if it doesn`t work, we`ll have to charge you anyway. I get it already, just put it in.... view more What do you know it worked fine. Went here a second time and winded up paying 900 bucks to replace a plastic flange in the coolant system. 100 bucks for the part and 800 for labor. Jesus Christ, does he have to disassemble my entire car? The guys up even look like conmen. They charge you for every little thing. I`m gonna have to charge you is all I heard. I`m betting the reason they have to take all the cars inside every night is so no one will retaliate from being ripped off. Stay away at all cost!!!

Takes advantage of women. Be aware of charges you didn`t authorize.
This was probably the worst experience I`ve ever had with a mechanic. I knew what was wrong with my car, just needed an inspection (which should have been done first) and whatever didn`t pass I wanted fixed. I was told the job might go into the next day, fine, I had a ride to and from work anyway. Here`s what I`m unhapy about:

1) The job took three days (three FULL days) when I was told it would be a day and a... view more half.
2) I told them my front indicator bulb was out, but I couldn`t replace it because it was hard to get to. - he called and tried to tell me there was something wrong with the wiring and said it would take two hours labor to diagnose- I told him to just change the bulb. Which was the problem.
3) He tried to get me to believe my front headlights were fogged and therefore would not pass inspection and that he could clear them up with rubbing compound. When I asked him to just see if they would pass first, he got very defensive and said they wouldn`t pass and if I were on a dark road I wouldn`t be able to see. Um, I`ve never had a problem driving in the dark with my Xenon headlights, thank you.
4) I was charged $500 labor to change 2 molded hoses!!!?????
5) My windshield washer reservoir was cracked which he fixed- when he called me back to tell me the car was done- he tacked on another $60 because he said the pump needed to be replaced, which is total BS because it worked only the week before.
6) AFTER he had done all this baloney work did he even bother to take it to ANOTHER place to get MD State inspected, in which the back tires and the back right rotor failed- I didn`t allow him to replace those, after he claimed I needed to replace two rotors instead of one.

I could go on and on. The topper was calling there and being asked if this was the ""babe with the Audi."" Never again.
