EXCELLENT TOP NOTCH SERVICE
I couldn`t be more pleased with the service and generosity of the staff and Klausmeier`s. I have been a customer for many years and I can see why this shop has been serving the community for so long. They are a family run business and I have noticed them treating my vehicles as their own. If you want a reputable and honest mechanic, this is your place.

WORST EVER
I am very unhappy with my family`s visit to Klausmeier`s. We were under the impression that they were honest mechanics. My family member took a car to them for inspection. They quoted a price of around 400. We came to pick up the car and we were informed it was 900!!! Don`t you think you should have called the customer before doubling a quote? Shouldn`t they have called and let someone know that the price was going t... view moreo DOUBLE????? That is called ripping off your customer. I would advise you to go somewhere else. These guys are crooks. Anyone who would do that to a Grandmother is really a crooked business man.

Most honest mechanic in Harford/Baltimore County
I live closer to Bel Air, and as of a couple years ago still found myself bouncing around mechanics trying to find a good, honest shop.
Started going to Carl and have had nothing but great experiences; always getting the best price, most honest estimates, as well as quality of work.
It`s a good 20-30 minutes down the road, so I have found myself trying a few local (Bel Air) shops for convenience, and on... view more 3 separate occasions have been given false, inflated estimates. Each time I ended up going to Carl for a second opinion and have saved well over $1000...
You name it, Carl can fix it.

Honest and Friendly
I`ve been looking for a mechanic that doesn`t try to swindle you out of everything you earn every since I started driving. After countless shops this is definitely the one I will be sticking with. I have taken my car to them numerous times and have never been disappointed.
Most shops I`ve been to will give you a long list of everything you could possibly have done to your car and tell you the total, which has been... view more $1,200+ for me one time with an alternator replacement. This simply doesn`t happen at Klausemeiers. They will give you recommendations for other work to be done if they find it (such as worn belts, low fluids or any dummy lights) but they will never include a price or try to push you in it. It is a simple "we found this and you might want to think about it in the future".
As far as price they are very fair. I haven`t had a situation where they are overly priced or unexpectedly high. I have had similar work done elsewhere (at a large chain) which cost me $250 more.
Turnaround time is very quick. Obviously it depends on how busy they and what work you`re having done, but anything minor for me has come back the next day. One time I had about $900 to replace my radiator and most of the worn hoses and it took them 2 days. I don`t think anyone can complain with that.
Customer service is exceptional - they are all very friendly.
I honestly haven`t found a downside to this shop yet other than maybe their parking lot is a bit small. That seems to be the norm with a lot of shops though, and is very petty to complain about. I`m actually having my car towed there today, and then going to buy a new car tomorrow because that thing has seen its last mile (which is why I took time to review them).

Fast, Honest, and Professional
My repairs were simple: my drivers side window wasn`t working. I was pretty sure it was off some sort of tracking device (I`m not very good with cars). Rita at the front desk was very genial every time I spoke with her. Carl called me when the work was complete and saved me about $400 by repairing a part instead of replacing it. I`m not sure if auto shops make too much of a profit off of markup on parts, but I apprec... view moreiated his honesty. My car was fixed within 48 hours of the drop off, just in time to finish up some Christmas shopping. I will definitely continue to use Klausmier & Sons for any more auto work.

Always pleased....
Klausmeier and Sons is a family run business with great personnel and experience. As a customer for the last 10 years, I can trust them for an honest diagnosis of my car. There aren`t many repair garages around to get honest and reliable work. With the technology changing in the automotive world, Carl and John have kept up with the curve.

Used to be good...
I used to be a customer at Klausmeier for at least 7 years. At first the service was great, with no problem at all. With time the shop`s business seemed to be outgrowing the number of mechanics the shop had, thus causing them to hire some inexperienced mechanics. For the past 2 years whenever I have had some work done to my vehicle, they always screw something else up. The shop used to have a small local friendly fee... view moreling, but now they are becoming as bad as your local big chain mechanics. The shop says it may take a day or 2 to get something done, but do not be fooled, they will cause some other problem, causing you to be without your car for a longer amount of time.
Don`t get me wrong, Carl is honest, but the new mechanics are horrible. They are very unreliable and are rushing to get work done, thus messing things up/overlooking things.
