AVOID THIS PLACE!! They are dishonest, do NOT do good work, and take advantage of people. I went to this Midas because of the cheap oil change ($25). However, I quickly found out that it?ˆ™s not a reputable place to go, even for a standard oil change. I drove no more than 1 mile after the oil change, parked my car, and discovered a significant pool of oil leaking from my car. I took my car back to the same Midas loc... view moreation the next day to ask them to stop the leak. To give you an indication of the amount of oil that leaked, the oil level had dropped 1/3 below the minimum level on the dipstick over the course of 12 hours; therefore, in one sense, I was really lucky to have caught the oil leak before my engine was damaged. However, it turned out that there was a crack around the drain plug on the oil pan. The folks at Midas made up a convoluted story about how I ran over something to cause the crack around the drain plug and adamantly claimed that it was not their fault. In actuality, as a Honda dealership and another independent mechanic indicated, the drain plug was over-tightened (i.e., not by me), causing the oil pan to crack. Even though it was clear that Midas caused the cracked oil pan, they did not rectify the problem that they created. So, in exchange for the $25 oil change, I now have to pay $500 to repair the damage that Midas caused (the $500 that a reputable mechanic was charging was at least better than the $900 Midas quoted), and I have spent numerous hours of effort diagnosing the problem, getting second opinions, talking to Midas, and getting my car repaired. On a slightly unrelated noted, the mechanics there aren?ˆ™t the most knowledgeable about cars because the mechanic who changed the oil for my car questioned who made Acura?ˆ™s and what Nissan makes. Prior to going to Midas, I should have checked out the (dissatisfied) reviews elsewhere (e.g., insiderpages, yellowbot, local.yahoo). Save your money and time and GO ELSEWHERE!
