Reviews:

I just moved to Maryland and need to get my cars inspected I took my 1985 Toyota Celica to the service department for the inspection. I read that Maryland`s inspection process is pretty strict so I wasn`t surprised when they failed it. I was surprised with some of the reasons that they failed it on. They failed it for a few reasons, the ball joints, a brake hose that is cracked, steering rack boots that are torn... view more, the front struts and rear shocks for excessive bounce and the interior rear view mirror. I found a web site that gives all the steps for the Maryland Inspection with the explanation of when to fail a vehicle for categories. I learned years ago that the way you test shocks are to push down and let go at each wheel where the shocks are, the car should come back up and come down and stop. My rear shocks settle on t first bounce The law says: "Procedure: with vehicle on a level surface push-down on each corner of the vehicle and release: Reject vehicle if: vehicle continues free rocking motion for two cycles after release or shock absorbers are worn, damaged or leaking to the extent vehicle stability is affected. The second red flag that was getting ripped off was the fact that they failed the car for the interior rear view mirror. My mirror shifts a little when you touch it, but it holds it position. This is what the law says: Procedure, from the driver`s position, visually inspect interior mirror for proper mounting, location, cracks, sharp edges, ease of adjustment and ability to hold an adjustment. Reject if: Mounting is loose so that rear vision is impaired, Does not provide an unobstructed view to the rear, Cannot be adjusted or will not hold an adjustment. The estimate to fix all these things to get it to pass inspection was $3,700. I took my car to Coale`s Automotive in Odenton. They said the shocks and struts are fine and the mirror isn`t a problem. I do have a slight hole in the muffler, the brake hose does need to be replaced. There isn`t excessive movement in the ball joint, the steering rack boots do need to be replaced. It will cost me $1,100 to fix and they are things that I would have fixed anyway. Find a good honest mechanic like I did.

A great experience
We purchased a 2010 Nissan Altima on Sunday May 6, 2012. It was a pleasant experience free of the back and forth haggling and numbers games many people complain about at other dealerships. We would highly recommend our sales consultant, Mr. Pauly Sansone to anyone looking for a used vehicle. He was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. He patiently explained every feature and technical detail of our v... view moreehicle. This dealership has a very nice customer waiting area, clean and comfortable. 5 Stars !

Waste of time and money
I called and specifically asked about a 2007 Honda Odyssey that is still listed on their site. Still listed on Cars dot com, still listed and relisted on Craigslist and the car was sold over three weeks ago. I came from VA to look at this car. I was told yes this car is still here on the lot and available. I even had the salesman check to see if it had had it`s timing belt changed since the Odyssey had 86K miles l... view moreisted on it and they are due for a change. He said he would check. He claimed he couldn`t find out, but that if it had not been changed he would definitely make sure I was compensated with a lower price and/or having someone do the work. Can`t tell you how many times I said Odyssey. I get there and he goes looking for the Odyssey and can`t find it. I overhear the other salesman saying it was sold over three weeks ago. After walking around the lot, he then said Oh I thought you said CRV. What??? Never did I say anything like that. Now that you know the car has been sold, why did you relist it yesterday on Craigslist? I was suckered in three days ago. Why is it still...after three weeks listed with Cars dot com and on your own website? I hate being lied to. Avoid this dealership! They`ll put up an ad just to get you to come out. I didn`t even get an apology. No compensation for driving all the extra miles. Nothing. I`ll share this with everyone I know.

Very simple and honest
Kevon kept the negotiations very simple and honest, and I walked out of the dealership with the deal that I wanted. He was very friendly, courteous and easy to work with. I would recommend him to any friends or family that are in the market for a new car. The financing person had us out of the dealership in only tne minutes, which was very much appreciated. I most liked working with Kevon. his employment at Toyota of... view more Bowie made deciding where to buy my new car very easy.

Really efficient and not pushy
The sales person was really efficient and not pushy. Even after we made our decision on the Highlander and asked her if we could check out a Rav4, she gladly showed us some Rav4 and allowed us to test drive one. We felt she was really trying to address our needs and not just sell us a car.

Not pushy at all
I just bought a 2009 Toyota Matrix from Toyota of Bowie. It was the best experience I ever had buying a car. My salesperson was James Earley, definitely ask for him, he was not pushy at all, and it was very comfortable working with him. And the finance people were great. I was worried about my payments and they worked with me so well. The day after I bought the car the finance guy called me and said I think I can fin... view mored you a better interest rate at another bank. I`ve never heard of a dealership that would call you back the next day even after you`ve signed the papers. If you already bought your car then I would def tell your friends and family about them. They even feed you popcorn and water/soda while your dealing. It`s a great place. And definitely ask for James Earley, he works hard for you, and finds exactly what you like.

Accommodate all the customers
My overall experience with purchasing a Toyota Camry from Toyota of Bowie was wonderful. I never felt rushed or pushed into making a decision. My sales rep was very professional and very thorough in explaining the car and everything else that goes along with a new car purchase. I have to say that Customer Service is obviously very important to Toyota because everyone at this dealership was friendly and always offered... view more assistance. Even when the dealership was overrun with people purchasing cars under the CARS Program the folks at Toyota kept smiles on their faces and tried to accommodate all the customers. I had to return to have an alarm and protectant coating put on the car. Toyota provided me with another car to drive while mine was being taken car of. Chrysler never did that for me! All I`ve got left to say is that in the future, if the automotive department measures up to the sales and customer service departments, then I would not have a reason to ever go to another dealer for my next car purchase! A+++ for Toyota of Bowie....
