Liar, Cheat, Ripoff artist

Do not go to this clown!!!! He is a nice guy but is a liar, cheat and scammer, he WILL NOT HONOR MANUFACTURES WARRANTY!!!!!!!!. I am writing this for a friend who had an engine supposedly swapped out for a remanufatured one with a 4 yr 40,000 mile warranty, had adds in both uncle henry`s and online. the engine started making a metal scraping noise 10,000 miles. it was looked at 2 times in 2 yrs (stored for the rest... view more) the 2nd time it sat there for 60 days in his lot and wasnt looked at. My friend got pissed and went and got it to have a 2nd and 3rd opinion( metal scraping internaly, noise resonating through whole engine block when running and was told it would have to be pulled and either rebuilt(again) or replaced and was quoted at 5,000 for the job, my friend tried to contact Shane at chesnut repeatedly (no ans and no return on messages left). My friend is a disabled, retired, unemployed vet who hasnt got alot of extra money around so he had to sell his car and is out a ride for his DR Appts and upcoming surgeries from his injuries (has had 25 sense 2005 plus staph and osteomolytis infections) . He states that when he originaly called chestnut and talked to shane to get a quote about the rebuild/replacement that Shane called him back on a daily basis to get the car there to be worked on, but when the shoe was on the other foot and the car repair had issues (started 2 yrs ago) with only 10,000 miles on it that Shane was hard to get ahold of and full of bull excuses why he never called back. my friend was told point blank bye the 3 mechanics near his house that he was taken advantage of, lied to, and basicly stolen from and shane did unneeded work to his car and most likely added something tot he oil to make it stop making the metallic scraping noise till he got home instead of the real issue being fixed right and proper and if Chestnut did infact rebuilt the engine in the first place it wasnt done right because you cant rebuild and engine properly when its still in the engine compartment, ( and the exhaust header leas kinda gave it away) it wasnt done right, SO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM CHESTNUT AUTOMOTIVE!!!! IN Skowhegan!! if he had seen what the place looked like before it was towed he wouldnt have had his car done there he states. please people do a background check on the company you intend on using!!!! also be aware of any company that makes you print off a warranty sheet and info off line and doesnt have you SIGN a copy in house but tells you to (PRINT IT OFF AT HOME) if a scam artist and is waiting to rip you off!!!! now you try and fins the warranty info from this company and he conveniently deleted it from online!!!!! please people stay away from this company its dishonest and is looking for honest people to take advantage of and rip off!!!! and my friend swears all the above is true here is their# if you dare use them (207)474-7983
