Won`t do business with them again
This place was recommended to me. My `02 blazer was having a problem with the taillights being either stuck active or wouldn`t come on at all, except for the third eye.
I took my car in about 1pm and they called me about 3:30-4 to tell me that a ""mutli-function"" switch was defective and would need to be replaced. The cost was $322.00 and they wouldn`t have the part until the next day. I told them to go ah... view moreead and do the work.
The next day, I went in to pick it up and my bill is $364. I disputed this cost as being different than what I was quoted. The guy at the counter calls his mom, who apparently does most of the office work and tells her about the dispute. She says that one of the other guys had called me (Mike or John maybe - I can`t remember what his name was). Regardless, he gets called up front and he says he quoted me $352 and says ""at least that`s what mom told me"", according to him.
I disputed this again and figured I wasn`t going to get anywhere by arguing and just told them to ring it up.
Now, I can understand an initial quote but once you`ve isolated the problem, found out the cost of the part and know your labor cost, I would expect that when I`m called, the figure would be accurate. I`m certain I heard the initial figure correctly. Regardless, the guy (son?) at the counter decided to bump the cost of the initial isolation down $10 from $99, to $89 and the end cost was $354. Even if I had misunderstood the initial quote, I would have ended up paying $2 more than what I was told.
When I went and picked up my car in the back of the shop, I found the the face of my radio hadn`t been put back on. I searched through the car for it and found it in the center console, then put it back on. How can you not notice that you didn`t put the radio face back on after you`ve had to pull the dash out and finish the work? It`s a pioneer radio and it just snaps back on. Was it really that difficult to do?
Now, the $32 difference in the quoted price and the billed price doesn`t change my life one way or another, however, it`s the principle of it. That price difference ensured that I`ll never do business with them again and it prompted this review.
As a side note, I told this story to a friend and he said he had dealt with this place before and had problems as well.
