Let me start out by saying that I`m female. For some reason, mechanics think we`re stupid and always try to ""fix"" things on our cars that don`t really need to be fixed! For example, I once took my car to a shop for an alignment and was told that I needed a new catalytic converter. REALLY?!?! A loose muffler bracket causing a rattling sound means I need a new catalytic converter??? I think NOT! I was expecting... view more the same treatment from Dewey`s, but instead was pleasantly surprised.

My daughter was about 2 weeks away from her 16th birthday and her car was waiting for her in the driveway. (Very exciting for a single mother of two who`s a teacher!) Only problem was that her car felt like it was slipping into neutral while driving. Once the car was warmed up, it wouldn`t accelerate for a few hundred yards, then it would be okay. I feared (and was told) the transmission was to blame. I called Dewey`s and told them how her `94 Cougar was behaving. They told me that it might not be the transmission, but a bad sensor instead. They replaced that ($200) in one business day and so far, so good! She loves her car and I found an honest mechanic! (What an oxymoron, but it`s true!)
