I used the AAMCO near Beavercr...
I used the AAMCO near Beavercreek and Xenia. I have a 1999 Trans Am that was used in by the NHRA. My car had a stall converter that was ordered by the NHRA and other extras. I blew the transmission when I took off fast from my home when I was running very late for an appointment. AAMCO was the only company open on the weekend, and since it was my only means of transportation, I allowed them to work on it.
They... view more told me it would cost around $2200 to fix. As a woman, I had no idea about any of it, so I asked if I could go back and watch while they worked on my car. No, was their absolute and final answer. They said for safety reasons and wouldn`t budge even when I offered to watch from outside their garage. So, when I received my car Bill told me to drive it easy for the first 500 miles to break it in gently. Before I got out of Xenia, I could tell that it shifted differently. I just thought it was like he said, needing broken in. About two months went by, and I still was taking it easy; however, as I was leaving town I needed to pass a slow/disabled car. When my car shifted into passing gear it made a horrible sound. I pulled over into a church, only to realize, I no longer had reverse. AAMCO refused to take care of it, so I went to a woman in Hillsboro, OH. She listened to my story and worked on my car. Just after she put it in the air she informed me that my stall converter was missing. I contacted AAMCO and asked them where my stall converter was, and they said that it was torn up too, so they had to trash it.
I found out a short time later that the cars behind the business was their race cars, ironically, one of them was a Camaro, which interchanges perfectly with a Trans Am. I believe they used it in their car, but I don`t know for sure. I contacted the BBB and reported them, but it was their word against mine. AAMCO cost me $2200 and I had to buy another stall converter.
The woman who fixed my car right told me that she use to deliver parts to that location and she witnessed the workers putting metal shavings in oil pans on more than one occasion, and presenting the oil pan to the customer and claiming it needed repaired. She said they did it right in front of her. They are shameless, greedy, and as dishonest as they come. Beware!!

Horrible Service at AAMCO Lacey
So, my boyfriend and I drove our 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee to Lacey from Ellensburg where we live and go to school. We had found a coupon for a great deal on a brake job, and we were excited to have it done. We got to AAMCO on Saturday morning, and left the car there as we took off to do some errands. A couple hours later, we got a call saying our rotors would need replacing and that our calipers needed a service. Ev... view moreen though this would cost us an extra $500, we agreed, telling the mechanics to do whatever was needed to get our brakes in tip top shape. A couple hours later, we picked up the car. As we were driving, the front left brake started smoking and smelling horrible. We called them up and explained the situation, and they told us this was normal because the breaks were "breaking in." Later that night as we were driving, the front left brake made a horrible noise and smoked more than ever. We drove it right in, and they told us had we driven much further, the rotor would have caught on fire! They then kept the car over the weekend (we were planning to drive home to Ellensburg that day) and through to Monday. On Monday, they made some bull**** excuse and told us we had to purchase calipers, even though we told them to perform that service. They made us miss class and work, charged us for parts that should have been checked, put our lives and vehicle at risk, cussed and hung up the phone on us, and made absolutely no compensation for our inconvenience. In total, we wasted three days, spent $600 more than we had planned, and got no apology whatsoever. If you value your time, money, and vehicle, NEVER go to AAMCO Lacey.

Bad experience at the Santa Mo...
Bad experience at the Santa Monica AAMCO store. The owner does not care about you or your car. Mine received a nice big dent while at the Santa Monica AAMCO store and the owner won`t even admit it. Says I`m lying. Yet she left my car in the parking lot rather in a secure area. It was there for 8 days too. The morning I picked up the car, it was again left outside the garage unlocked and the door was partly open. I kn... view moreow this because I arrived before the shop opened. I`m lucky the battery was not completely dead in addition to this body damage.

GREAT SERVICE / HONEST
The Service Manager, Kurt< answered my questions in a very straight forward way that made me feel very comfortable. I dreaded having to have my transmission fixed, but after he explained how getting it custom built with all of the updates would make my transmission perform better, I was glad that I chose Aamco. Kurt explained what had caused my transmission to fail and even took me on a tour of the rebuild area wh... view moreere I got to see all the internal parts involved. I highly recommend Aamco in Tigard.

Great Service
I went to a AAMCO because they have the FREE Check Engine Light Service. I thought it would cost me something when I got there, but they came right out after looking it over and explained that the light was on because of a EVAP. They turned the light off and charged me nothing.
Thank you AAMCO!!

Clutch and Transfer Case repair
I recently had a clutch change and a leak fixed on the transfer case. After taking the car back 4 times the leak seems to be corrected but the clutch is still low. Another thing to be weary of is that tools in you vehicle should be inspected before leaving I didnt and am now paying the price!
