Great Service
I just had my vehicle worked on at Key Cadillac. The staff was friendly and helpful. I just bought a 2007 DTS and the staff at Key seemed to know a lot about the vehicle. I asked them a lot of questions about the operation of some of the features and about what maintenance to do and they definately seemed very familiar with the vehicle. They recommended some maintenance with my repair. I double checked in the o... view morewner`s manual to see if it was needed and it said in the owner`s manual to do this as well. I purchased my vehicle with 94,000 miles on it and it has 96,000 now. They recommended a serpentine belt based on the mileage. It was not craked but I checked with some friends and some automotive forms and they agreed it was a good idea to replace this around 100,000 miles. Key also had a great waiting area with internet and some cookies. They also shuttled me over to the Southdale mall and picked me up after the repair. The service was great!

GREAT JOB - Friendly Staff - I TRUST Key Cadillac
On Monday morning, December 20, 2010, I needed to get a key made for my vehicle, a Cadillac STS. I called a non-Cadillac dealer to help me because of the location of the vehicle. They told me the only way to get the key made and programmed, and get my vehicle running was to tow the vehicle to their dealership. They said absolutely no one could get the vehicle running where it was setting. I asked how much it woul... view mored cost once I got the car to their dealership, they said, $90.00. So I towed the vehicle, $107 plus $10 tip, to their dealership. They then said it would cost $110 to get the car running and would not be available until the next day. The next day I got a call and they said, the car needs an anti-theft module and it must be a new one, not even a used module would work and the cost to me would be $758 tax included, and the vehicle would not be ready until next Monday, December 27, 2010. So with the information they gave me, the cost to me would be $865, (repair plus the tow). On December 22, I called Key Cadillac to get a second opinion. Mary Nederostek from Key Cadillac Service department took my call and understood my situation and told me to call their Roadside Service Technician, Dave Gilbert. Dave said he had over 25 years of experience with Cadillac and would get the car running for $150, and if he couldn?ˆ™t there would be no charge. A pretty confident statement by him, so I said let?ˆ™s proceed. Dave was on another call across the cities, but within 2 hours I got a call and he said the car is running. I live in Eden Prairie, the car was in St. Paul. I cannot say enough about how much Mary N. and Dave G. helped me and saved me over $608 and 5 days, and I would not have my car over the Holiday?ˆ™s. I highly recommend Key Cadillac and their outstanding staff. M. Howley Eden Prairie, MN

Service mechanics are not tustworthy
I have been using Key for the last year for service on my 04?ˆ™ Chevy and 04?ˆ™ Buick cars. I have had a new battery put in, thermostat replaced, fluid flushes, and other various items repaired at this service shop.
Most recently I had the thermostat replaced, and I was given an estimate of 130.00 when I dropped the car off and my bill came in at $250 when I went to pick it up. When I picked the car up I was told th... view moreat I needed a new serpentine belt put on because mine was ""cracking"" and the cost would be an additional 250.00 for the work to be completed. I was starting to get suspicious of all the repairs both of my cars seem to need when I went in for oil changes for the last year. So I took my car to my father who lives 300 miles away to have him double check all repairs that were done to my car and to look at the serpentine belt on my car. (My father is an ex-mechanic of 25 years on domestic cars) so I could trust him to tell me what my car really needed. He replaced my serpentine belt with a new one that was under 40 dollars and it took him 20 minutes to put it on. He came back in with the belt off my car and said my old belt was in such perfect I could take it back to the store where he bought it and they would think it was new. There were absolutely NO cracks in the old belt.

Additionally, I had trouble one day with my car not starting and had to have a jump from a tow truck. When the tow driver hooked my car up he said that was funny that my car started right away and maybe I had a loose connection and not a bad battery. When I took my car to Key they automatically replaced the battery never confirming that it was just a bad connection. With my new battery in 2 days later my car would not start again. Again I called a tow driver and he looked at the car and showed me a bad cable that was totally obvious if you know what to look for and said it was not my battery but that bad cable.

With these 2 incidents I do not trust this shop to take care of my care any longer. I believe they make recommendations for expensive replacements when they are not necessary nor do they do due diligence when trying to determine a problem. I would recommend looking for a different service provider for your vehicles.

Sincerely,
25 year old girl taken advantage of
