Gold Star Auto Body & Frame located in Circle Pines, MN was recommended to me by a long time mechanic/business owner in the area. The work estimate Gold Star wrote up on the hail damage on my vehicle was a fair estimate, I had no problem with that. After I dropped my car off I didn?ˆ™t hear back from Gold Star for 12 days and the owner then said it would be another four days until complete, after I called several t... view moreimes, by the way the owner gets to work around 2pm. After I picked up my car and arrived home I started to check out the work Gold Star performed. The hail damage repair was a good job however, that is where the good job stops, abruptly. Here is a laundry list of the problems I found on my car after I picked it up: 1. The trunk was lopsided/crooked, the trunk lines did not line up with the body of the car. 2. The side mirror adjuster was re-installed 90 degrees off, when I attempted to adjust the driver and passenger side mirrors I would move the joy stick to the right and the mirror would move down and to the left, this happened on both mirrors driver and passenger side. 3. Driver side door electronic seat adjustment for driver 1 and driver 2 did not work, Gold Star forgot to plug it back into the electronic harness. 4. Driver side window, now has 5 deep scratches on it, there were no window scratches when I dropped off the car, I asked the owner about it and he alluded that the scratches were probably there before I dropped off the car, right. 5. The tail lights flicker on and off when the road got a little rough, only thing Gold Star found was the passenger side blinker LED?ˆ™s did not work. Good thing my car is under warranty, I?ˆ™m have professionals troubleshoot this problem that wasn?ˆ™t there when I dropped the car off. 6. Driver side interior door panel not securely attached, Gold Star says this is normal, the other three door panels don?ˆ™t move from side to side. 7. Gold Star is approximately 40 miles from my home, I reset my trip odometer and when I picked up my car it had 130 miles on it, I?ˆ™m still wondering what happened to the other 90 miles? 8. My car, filthy inside and out. White dust covered my entire interior, this white dust also covered my engine compartment, I had to blow off the white dust with my air compressor, my engine compartment used to look new, not any more. When you walk into Gold Star the entire customer area is filthy, my wife who later confessed she would not set foot into the only restroom which was in worse condition than the customer area. Now for the customer service, the owner never once apologized for the condition of my car. Once I checked out my car I immediately stopped payment on my credit card until the discrepancies were fixed. When driving home the owner called about 5 minutes later asking for payment, I relented and just wanted to go home and forget about this experience. If you are looking for a body shop that will return your car in filthy condition (inside and out) I would highly recommend Gold Star. Buyer beware ensure you checkout your car?ˆ™s entire condition if you choose to use Gold Star.
