Reviews:
Jade runs a great shop!!!
I`ve been using Treads` Coursey location for a good long while now. I started getting tires for all of my vehicles there--they are generally the best price on rubber in the BR area AND they can get the tires you ask for. They also don`t hesitate to make intelligent recommendations which can save you money.
Since both vehicles in my ""fleet"" are now at the 100K+ mark, I`ve also started using Treads for my mainte... view morenance. I recently had them do a full sweep on fluids, rear axle bearings and seals and suspension on my truck. I`m a car geek, so I want things just so and I like to pick my own replacement parts. Treads has no problem at all with me bringing in my own parts and taking care of my vehicle.
Additionally, Jade and his staff are very friendly, professional and courteous and the new Coursey location has the most comfortable customer lounge area of any shop in BR, including the dealerships.
If you haven`t yet done business with them, and you are looking for a competent, reputable shop to deal with maintenance and non-warranty issues, give them a call...if my past experience is any indicator, you`ll find them quite nice to do business with.

Reasonable pricing, very clean shop and friendly staff
They`re honest. They won`t just continue to take your money if they don`t think they can fix your problems. They`d refer you before they rob you, unlike lots of mechanics. They will change what they feel is needed to fix your car and preemptively stop any other problems from arising.

they cannot repair tires
I brought a leaking tire to this place and they could not find the leak. They told me that they would not look for the leak any longer and that I should buy a new tire. Oh and by the way we are charging you $10 just for looking for the leak and NOT making the repair.
Do NOT bother going to this place if you need your tire repaired. They will just try to sell you tires instead of patching your existing tire. ... view more
They have a nice shop, good location, and potential, but for some reason they are pushing their customers to buy tires instead of a more cost effective tire repair.
I am not going back to this place and my family members that recommended this place are disappointed and will not be returning.

Loyal Customer for 6 years!
Treads and Care on Coursey has been my first choice for vehicle repairs for a long time. I originally chose this location because it was close to my apartment. I continue to go back to Treads and Care because of the amazing and honest service that I recieve each time I go. I now live in Hammond and have lived here for two years. I drive to Baton Rouge every time I need anything done to my car because I know I wil... view morel recieve excellent service every time I go. I also know that Jade and Brandon will be honest about what needs to be done and will not do work that is not necessary. They always strive to give me the best deals in order to save me the most amount of money. I highly reccommend Treads and Care on Coursey!

A loyal customer for three years
Several years ago, I found myself looking for a new set of tires for my Toyota Avalon. After doing my homework online, I found the tires that I wanted. I began calling around Baton Rouge to get tire prices. I had already called most of the places when I spoke with Jade. The price that he quoted was extremely fair. He had them ordered and sent overnight. By the next day, they were on my car. Since that time, we... view more have returned to have new tires placed on our Camry as well.
I cannot say enough about Treads and Care. I am sorry that the other customer had a bad experience. However, they have always followed through with what they promise. I took my car by their new store this morning. Very nice waiting area with complimentary drinks for customers that have to wait. Whether it is for price, service or their nice waiting area, check them out; you will be glad that you did.

a pleasant experience
Yesterday (2/17/10) I had the unfortunate experience of finding my car with a totally flat tire, so being strapped for time I needed to find a place near my work that I could get to and get out of in as little as time possible. Being a google fanatic I googled where I could go. I stumbled upon Treads & Care and was excited that they were literally right down the road, but noticed they happened to have a very nasty ... view morereview, so after debating for a bit I decided to give Treads & Care my benefit of a doubt and took my car to them. From the moment I called them to the moment I received my car back from them my experience at Treads & Care was awesome. The person who answered the phone (the manager Jade) was extremely nice and courteous. Then once I arrived to Treads & Care I was greated with the same polite and courteous manner from him. There were a few other customers there when I arrived and was worried that it may take longer than I had expected, but to my pleasent surprise I was wrong. As I hung out in the waiting area I was able to observe not one, but three other transactions between customer and manager. Each time the manager was very polite and informative. All three people before me left informed and satisfied with their services. So, left by my lonesome I decided to mention the nasty review, which I read from this site, to the manager. Not once did he make excuses for anything, but just expressed the wish and willingness of being able to right whatever wrong the disgruntled customer felt had been done, which is all anyone could do in that situation and in my experiences is more than most places are even willing to think about doing.
So...to bring my lengthy praise to a conclusion, I`d just simply like to say that my experience was a very good one and I`m excessively happy that I did give Treads & Care a chance because they totally deserved it. I would and already have recommended my friends to them and will probably go back to them in the future.
Thanks :)

Response to previous comment.
It is our sincere desire to provide honest and accurate service for our customers. We do realize that, like all people, we do make mistakes. We do take full responsibility for a mistake if we make one.
I think it is very important to mention a few details regarding the previous situation. After performing the service, the customer made no contact with us to express any dissatisfaction. The first communication ... view morewe received was through the Better Business Bureau. We then contacted him in an effort to resolve the issue. He agreed to bring the vehicle in so we could check it together. We held an appointment for the gentleman, which he failed to keep. We have to, this date, not be given the opportunity to address this issue for him.
We warranty all our work for 12 month or 12,000 miles and will stand behind everything we have done for this gentleman if given the opportunity.
Sincerely,
Jade Stanford (Manager)

I Believe they were dishonest
I contacted Treads and Care on Coursey blvd. in Baton Rouge, La. the last week in December 2009. I was having trouble with my Ford van. It was leaking transmission fluid and I called them up to see if they could put a gasket on the transmission pan, thereby stopping the leak (hopefully).
I also asked them if this was the type of work they did, or should I take my van elsewhere. The person who I spoke with at Tread... view mores and Care assured me that they could do it and told me to bring it over the following day. He sounded honest and courteous and so I agreed to bring the van to their shop the following day.
To make a long story short, after I had arrived, I was told that my appointment would be about an hour late. No problem, however, it turned into a long three hour waiting period.
Finally, I saw them take my van for a test drive and then watched them put it upon the rack. I later saw them take the van for a test drive after they had supposedly repaired it.
My van was never repaired and they charged me over $230.00! The supervisor assured me the van was ready and repaired. It was not! It still leaks and it runs just as bad as it did before I took it to them.
Angry and disgruntled I contacted Cottman Transmission , who is now Aamco, located at 14140 Coursey blvd. in Baton Rouge, and the owner/operator, Mitch Cobb was just the opposite of the people at Treads and Care.
He was honest and straight forward, and he couldn`t believe what they had done to me when I explained to him what had occurred. He proceeded to check my van out thoroughly before recommending what should be done...and he refused to charge me a single dime to do it!
Once they did a complete analysis on the van they then recommended that I go to an engine repair shop, as oppose to their shop (transmission) before they address the transmission. Mitch felt most of my problems could be alleviated at an engine care shop.
In conclusion, I wouldn`t and haven`t recommended anyone to take their vehicle for service at Treads and Care on Coursey blvd. in Baton Rouge, La. But I highly recommend anyone and everyone to go and see Mitch Cobb at Cottman/Aamco for all your transmission problems, and I assure you if he can`t help you, he will not swindle you or deceive you in any way whatsoever.
Thanks Mitch, I look forward to doing business with you for a very long time. It`s nice to know there are still people like you that are still out there. Thanks.
Report Follow-Up: Posted 01/23/10----- P2264
I would like to make a follow-up statement concerning the above post. After posting the above review of Treads and Care on Coursey blvd., in Baton Rouge, La., I contacted the local BBB (Better Business Bureau) and filed a complaint against the company. I spoke with the owner of Treads and Care and I told him that I would be willing to set an appointment (01/29/10) to allow them to check the vehicle and see if my claims are valid or not.
However, after viewing their written response to the accusations that I have made (they stated to the BBB that I had said that I was satisfied with their work---that was a lie), I have changed my mind and decided to get two different independent opinions (engine shop and a transmission shop) about the problem I described in my original review concerning Treads and Care.
I will keep you posted and I will publish all findings concerning this case. It should take between 4 to 6 weeks to get this completed. I apologize that it will take so long, but I am a self employed contractor and business is just beginning to pick up.
I`m sure it will cost a considerable amount of money to have the vehicle checked out and repaired. But I will definitely keep you posted. If I have been wrong all along, I will issue a public apology to the owner of Treads and Care, and their employees at the Coursey location.
If they are found to be negligent, I will post that as well, and their efforts (if any) to try and right the wro
