Something about those alternators...
My 1987 Oldsmobile has quite a number of lifetime warranty products on it but it seems when the store finds out you`re a warranty customer, the service changes. The part is never stocked at all stores, you have to go to one location and hope that the store actually has it. One assistant manager told me,"this is the last time I`m going to warranty that alternator and I`m going to ok this particular one because you d... view moreidn`t show your b u t t!" He was really nice! I don`t believe he`s there anymore...or at least I hope not!

Stuck with Faulty Product Damage
I purchased a faulty alternator which when installed immediately destoryed the serpentine belt. The store would not replace the belt and I had to pay in excess of $40.00 plus additonal labor due to the fualty product. I spoke with the nearby AutoZone and PepBoys and both stores advised that it was their common practice to replace any parts that a defaulty product damaged and were required to do so under fair trade p... view moreractices. At present, I have made 5 attempts to get the money refunded, but no reply has been made by anyone in the company.
To make matters worst, Assistant Manger Natalie, thought that the matter was funny and joked to customers about my anger. They defintely need to hire more professional staff at store 518 on Johnston Street in Lafayette, LA. I can only hope that the other stores have better management.
