I will admit all situations are
This is the worse dealership I have ever been to. I told them I didn`t car about gas milage, or how many miles the car had or how new it was, all I wanted was a car I felt safe in driving during the winter months. After about 5 hrs filling out paperwork, they said they had a car and ONLY ONE CAR the lending company would let me have. Well since my transmission was shot in my car, I felt I had no choice but to take... view more this car. Really only one car in a lot of supposed 250 used cars. This is the most dangerous car I have ever driven. I have driven neon`s, corolla station wagons, a 280zx, I`m talking small cars and I have never driven a car that has never felt planted to the ground as I have this one. It is very hard to manage when the wind is blowing and if you it a gust of wind it will blow you into the other lane. If you it a bump in the road it bounces you over. And when it rains you will be hydroplaning. I thought the GM would have offered me another car in the price range the lending company allowed, that would be safer, NOT THIS COMPANY all he cared about was the review I gave. After looking at the paper work since we were exhausted being there for 5 hrs waiting I notice they charged me $2,500 service fees and $399 doc fees. Plus I asked another car dealer the trade in value of this car and he said it was only $6,800. I paid after all said and done $15,000. Well they made a lot of money off of us. I was furious the 1st 3 weeks I had this awful car. I work hard for my money and to be taken in by this supposed reputable dealership was beyond anything I have ever dealt with. I guess when they saw a woman and a man in a wheelchair come in they thought sucker. Our credit was that good, but that doesn`t mean we should have been taken for the ride we were given. I`m not sure if all car dealships are this bad, but I was treated better at chad franklin when he was in business and got a great car. So if you work had for your money stay as far away from this place. Go to carddealercheck you`ll get the true reviews of this place.

I will admit all situations are
I will admit all situations are different, but all I wanted was a safe car to drive durng the winter months. Valerie said that the car we ended up with was the ONLY CAR the lending company would allow us to get. NOW OUT OF A WHOLE CAR LOT there is only ONE that fit the lending company????s criteria??? That should say something right there. My transmission was shot on my car, so I really didn????t have a choice since my... view more credit was not that good. The car I got is so dangerous to drive in even good weather I dread the winter months. Plus they charged us $2,500 in service fee and $399 in doc fees. The loan office at the lending company said usually good dealerships would try to put me into another vehicle that would suit me. NOT THIS COMPANY, they want to unwind the deal and for me TO CHANGE MY REVIEWS in a very threatening manner. NOT. I can????t afford to unwind the deal..My co-workers know it, my friends know it and THEY KNOW IT. Oh by the way the person they sold the car to is in a wheel chair

A Happy Customer!
We originally purchased a vehicle in 2004 from Shawnee Mission Kia. It was not the most pleasent experience at the time. I brought my van in for repairs and decided to get some information on new vehicles since my 100,000 warranty was almost up. I spoke to a very nice man, who at the time I did not realize but came to find out that he was the New Car sales manager, Chris Winans. I told him I was not sure if we would ... view moreever purchase a car from there again and he stated that he was fairly new there and wished that I would give them a second chance. I gave my husband all of this information and he went to the dealership to see what kind of a deal we could put together on a new car. My husband was greeted by Dustin Johnson and when I got there was greeted by him as well. He was very interested in helping us as much as possible. The first day we could not agree on a trade value for my van, so we waited a couple of days and I went back to talk to Dustin and he got together with Chris Winans(manager) and we talked over the trade and agreed on an amount. They tried to work the financing as best that they could, but we were unable to get a van payment we wanted. I went to Olathe Kia to get a second opinion on numbers and they stated that they were unable to come close to the dollar amount that SMK was going to give us for trade. After 3 days of trying to figure out what we wanted to do, we went back to the dealership. We arrived at 6:10, and they closed at 6:00 that day. Dustin was still there and he came out to greet us, let us test drive the cars we wanted and explained what we needed to hear. After we decided on the car we wanted (a 2010 Soul), Dustin sat us down with the financing guy and we proceeded to get all of the paperwork done. The whole time we were in financing Dustin stayed late and took care of everything that we needed that night to drive off the lot. I am impressed by his friendliness, willing to go above and beyond all of his expectations as a salesman and his awesome personality. My name is not an easy one to remember, but everytime I have stepped foot in the doors, he addresses me by name and has a smile on his face. I suggest that if you want grade A+ service, go in and ask for Dustin Johnson!!!! A big thanks to him and Chris Winans for a great car buying experience!

Experience so Good I went back twice!!
I first purchased a Kia Sorento from Shawnee Mission Kia in 2007 and had a very good buying experience. When I started looking to trade my car in for a new Kia Sorento, I initially started my relationship with salesperson Bonnie Smith online. I explained my situation (being upside down) and looking for a lesser car pmt. Bonnie was informative and patient with my constant babbling of my credit scenario. About 3 mo... view morenths past and I was ready to come and look. I contacted Bonnie again via email on their website as I had found a used vehicle I was interested in. I went into see Bonnie and after looking at the inventory and my finances, both Bonnie and the finance dept suggested a new 2009 Kia Sorento as the rebates would bring down the price of the car. I found a beautiful car and they worked very hard to get me arrangements that fit my budget. I left very happy!! 3 months later, my new car was stolen and totalled. I was in the market again. I called Bonnie, explained the situation and she and the finance department took good care of me. I wanted another 2009 Kia Sorento but this time wanted a used one. Bonnie helped search for one and when I went to look at them, they had 9 for me to choose from! All delivered to their site in about a week. I got a great deal, low mileage, and extended warranty and again have my beautiful Kia Sorento with a much less costly pmt!! Bonnie and the finance team helped me turn a disaster into a very good car buying experience. I would encourage anyone who wants to be treated fairly and with compassion....you aren`t just a number there...to go to either Shawnee Mission Kia or Shawnee Mission Kia Used Cars. They work closely together and do what is best for the customer. I`m very grateful to Bonnie and Chin for helping me, yet again, through a difficult time.

Take your business somewher else.
My wife and I thought about trading in her 2005 Sorento for a 2011 sorento so we decided to stop in Shawnee Mission Kia and take a look. We found the exact Sorento we wanted and when we went to make a deal the sales mgr was getting antsy about how much we owed on our current Kia. I didnt think it was any of his business so i didn`t tell him. The sales manager and salesman kept asking how much and wouldnt tell me how ... view moremuch he was going to give me for my trade. After about an hour and a half, the sales manager came back and gave us numbers for the car and also stated that he checked out how much we owed through his dealer tracking system. Basicly he wanted to give me what i owed on the our 05 Kia and give me the new car and sticker minus 2000.00 in rebates. He wouldn`t budge and I wasn`t going to either. 3 hours after we got there we left feeling very dissatisfied about our experience due to the sales manager going over my head about my payoff without me knowing. Very sneaky. I guess thats why car dealerships have such a bad rap.

Avoid this Place at all costs
Terrible experience with the used car lot.
Vehicle was misrepresented on the web site and they were unwilling to negotiate price at all despite this.
Didn`t return calls as requested and promised, at least 5 times I had to call them when they said they were calling me...
Salesmen lied to me and tried to transfer me around office to other salesman when I asked for a manager. Pathetic.
I bought from these guys; t... view morerust me, stay far away from these creeps.
I cannot speak for the New Kia salespersons, but the people who worked inside that portion of the business were rude, I can say that much. I had to go there to get financed and didn`t have a great experience with that either. I was basically treated like a second class citizen because I didn`t have a high credit score at the time.
No customer service on the most expensive thing I will ever buy aside from my home? Unacceptable.
The positive reviews are written by employees of the dealership, so obviously...

Absolute Disaster
I had an absolutely terrible experience trying to buy a car from Shawnee Mission Kia. Finding an acceptable vehicle and agreeing to a price were not an issue. However, financing, communication, and honesty are areas in which this dealership needs great improvement. First, the staff (I will not identifiy individuals in this forum) did not call when they said they would. I was forced to initiate every phone conversatio... view moren, after waiting at least twice as long as I was told I would have to for a response. Second, the finance officer submitted an incorrect amount for the loan, and when I was approved, we were left with a $3000 gap between the price of the car and the loan amount. I wsa able to come up with that $3000 in cash to facilitate the trade, but then I was hit with the final problem. The manager decided to reduce the amount they offered for my trade in by $2000, leaving me with another gap to fill. At this time I was forced to withdraw my offer for the vehicle. Save yourself a headache and stay away from Shawnee Mission Kia. If you want a Kia, which is a good car, visit Olathe Kia, Jack Miller Kia, or Independence Kia instead.
