Horrible customer service! Would NOT recommend to anyone!!!!! :(
131 East Euclid Avenue, Des Moines- I do much of my own mechanic work on vehicles but Firestone is close to my home so I thought I`d give them a try. My car had been getting more hot than usual and the heat started to cut out on and off so I flushed the radiator and changed the thermostat. The next time I drove the car overheated so I stopped at Firestone. Apparently I forgot to let the air escape before capping the ... view moreradiator and an air bubble formed causing the car to overheat. Also I believe the radiator cap was defective and had completely blown off of the radiator. So when the tech called me he said you`re problem was your radiator cap is gone and you had no coolant. I had explained to them when I dropped the car off that I`d been having problems before I did the flush, but obviously no one listened. I could tell by the tone of voice these guys thought I was some idiot who left the cap off and that was the issue. I explained on the phone again I`d been having issues before that and the cap had been in place when I left my house. I went and picked the car up expecting no issues. I asked the tech if they had performed a pressure test? This tells you if you have a coolant leak anywhere in the system. The guy DAVE, I believe his name was, responded with,Yeah it looks like we did. Everything looked good.Okay so I have to take it back in a week because it`s leaking coolant. Turns out its leaking in numerous different places in which I had them repair one. I asked the guy at the counter whom looked like the manager due to a different coat color,to make sure his techs are giving people the correct information because I`d asked about the pressure test and been told it had been done...When it obviously HAD NOT! He was immediately rude and said, " well it`d be on the receipt if we had, I replied, "well I specifically asked and the guy told me yes we did, and everything looked fine.JUST ANOTHER PLACE TRYING TO SCAM CUSTOMERS! I DON`T UNDERSTAND THAT KIND OF BUSINESS!!!!

Help on a Sunday in July
This Firestone service center is very honest and above board. While traveling to Nevada from Pennsylvania, the ?ˆ?service engine soon?ˆ? light began flashing in our Buick Century while towing a loaded U-Haul trailer. This occurred on a Sunday and naturally we were worried about finding any help at all. We located this center via the internet and phoned them while on I-80 heading toward Des Moines, IA. The manager reassur... view moreed us that they were open and ready to help. The staff greeted us as we pulled up and put the car into the service bay to run the diagnostic to determine the problem right away. Initially, the manager was hoping the problem was just a loose gas cap. However, after running the tests, two of the three ignition coils had to be replaced along with spark plugs and wires. Their book said this was a three-hour job, but they were able to complete the job in less than two hours. The crew took on this project as if it was a NASCAR pit stop. In addition, we had not eaten so the manager offered to take us to a local restaurant and send someone to pick us up, a good time-saving move for our trip. (He said it was too far for us to walk.) We were on the road in 45 minutes after returning from our lunch and reached our destination of Laramie, WY for that day. We highly recommend this service center!
