Terrible. Shady and dishonest....
Terrible. Shady and dishonest. I took my car here to get my passenger power window checked out because it kept coming off the track. The mechanic told me that the brackets holding the window into the regulator were broken. He told me the window regulator needed to be replaced and quoted me almost $400 to do the work. I chose not to do the fix and just had him put the window back up and I just wouldn`t use it. That vi... view moresit cost me $125. I did a search online to see if I could fix it myself and it looked pretty easy so I tried it out. After pulling the door panel off my car I noticed right away that the brackets were not broken...they had just come loose and fallen off. I easily put the brackets back on and tried to roll the window up...it went off track again. However, I noticed that the piece of metal that acts as the "track" to keep the window in place as it rolls up and down was bent, causing the window to fall out of the track. I attempted to bend the piece of metal back with my hand but it was way too thick so I had to bend it using a hammer and quite a bit of force. While I cannot prove it, I am almost positive that the mechanic who looked at the window in the first place purposely bent the track. Perhaps snapping those brackets back on was too easy and cheap of a fix and me being a young, blonde, female perhaps he thought I`d fall for it and pay to replace the regulator. When looking at the way the track was bent and considering how much force it took to bend it back into place , I find it very hard to believe that the track could have been bent so much just due to normal use of the window... This was not the first time they screwed me over either, last year I was having problems with my car stalling after I drove over a large pothole filled with water. Turns out the serpentine belt had gotten wet so he took it out, dried it off, and put it back in...and charged me $213 to do it. Based on that experience I wouldn`t put it past them to tamper with a vehicle in order to make a quick, inexpensive fix more expensive. Beware!!!
