Do NOT take your vehicle to this business! We took a `02 Hyundai with high miles here for an estimate. The business owner NEVER called us back. We called 3 different times in the week and a half he had our vehicle, each time he said he hadn`t gotten to it yet, there was another car in front of us. Each time we asked him to please get back to us as soon as possible - a family with 3 kids down to one car. Over the... view more weekend we decided we would just buy a new car and not fix the old one since at this point it had taken up many resources. We called early 8am, the next Monday morning to tell him our decision to not have him fix it - this is when he said it was completely fixed and the bill was $869. We never got an estimate or diagnosis, we never got a chance to approve his work, now he is holding our car until we take him to civil court or pay almost $1000 for unauthorized work. Please use someone else in Marshalltown. The owner said he has been dealing with "people like you" for over 30 years, as if we were running some sort of scam. We offered to pay him for the estimate which he now says will be over $300, we took him a check for $450 to cover the parts; we thought this very fair since we never authorized this work - he declined. He has refused to release even the car seats in the vehicle so we have to go buy new ones since a court date will take some time. Please, please please go somewhere else, this mechanic is one of the bad guys. Terrible experience.
