Great People, Great Repairs, Great Plains

Our History We have come a long way since the night Bruce and Joyce sat down around the table with their kids to think of a name for this shop, but family is still at the heart of our operation. Bruce and Joyce Hansen founded Great Plains Auto Body in November 1988 as a family owned and operated auto body repair shop. We first opened our doors in Omaha, Nebraska in a 5000 sq. ft. leased facility at 78th and "F" street. In 1992, 2500 sq. ft. were added. In 1996, we purchased the 17,000 sq. ft. building and 3 and 1/2 acres of land, which serves as our current location. In 2000, we underwent a major addition to the repair facilities (12,000 sq. ft.) and an extensive remodel to the administrative offices. Along the way, we have found excellent employees who believe in the service we want to provide. In 2007 we opened a second location in the Lake Manawa area of Council Bluffs, Iowa. The growth did not stop there!?  In 2012 we opened our third location on Emmet Street in Omaha. We work on all cars foreign and domestic and are the only Mercedes certified shop in Nebraska. Our technicians are ASE and I-CAR Gold Certified. All insurance companies welcomed and have a Lifetime Warranty on our work. Free estimates.

Reviews:

I had work done by Markel ford...
I had work done by Markel ford three weeks ago.The repair involved front and back windshield replacement. On the 27 day after the repair work was completed. My wind shield had a hairline crack. The Markel staff insisted that the problem was caused by a rock hitting my windshield and refused to replace the windshield. Please be aware that repair work done by this firm has no warranty.I told the Markel staff what happened ... view morethat I warmed my car up in my garage after which I returned to my car and found the heat from defroster caused a stress crack .Their customer service leaves much to be desired.I was told to file another claim with my insurance company and pay another $500 dollar deductable. One would think that a dealership like Markel would stand by their sub contractors work.I can say that this is not the case.Buyer be aware,Markel customer service "sucks".
