Stay Away from Ace Muffler Clinic!

I went here for years and thought they were really nice and were honest on what was wrong with my vehicle. They give free estimates so I kept coming back year after year. Well, since my most recent experience, it`s safe to say STAY AWAY from this shop. I went in to get an estimate and to find out what was causing the squeaking noise when I drove my car. I called them on a Monday ... view moreand asked Butch (owner of Ace Muffler) ahead of time what day would be the best to bring my car in where they could look at it and give me the estimate that same day, he told me Wednesday. I dropped the car off right when they opened Wednesday. I waited all day to hear from them, 9 hours later I called THEM to get the status of my vehicle since they were an hour or so away from closing for the day and I needed to know. Butch told me, ""ohh dear, we haven`t had a chance to look at it yet."" All of that time, and they never even looked at it, and they weren`t even going to tell me?? The only reason I dropped it off Wednesday was to make sure I got it back in time. Thursday rolls around and I finally get a call in the afternoon telling me that I needed over $1000 of repair work done to my car. I ended up paying for over $300 worth of work that he said was basically an emergency not related to the noise. I got my car back days later..Nothing is ever done on time with this shop, everything takes so much longer, and they have horrible customer service when it comes to letting you know the status of your vehicle..a couple weeks later I took it back to him again to get another $400 fixed and I asked him if it would get rid of the squeaking noise. He said yes, it would. So days later, once again, I finally got the car back. I didn`t hear any squeaking noise for half of the day..and then there it was, just as loud, the squeaking noise came back. On top of that, my alignment was WAY off, it wanted to pull right so strong. My car was worse off then before I took it in. I called the shop and told them that the squeaking is still there and that my alignment is really bad now. Butch said, ""oh that alignment should have been re-set, you can bring it back in and we ll re-set the alignment again."" My mother took my car back in the next day for me and told them the noise is still there as well and that they said it would be fixed. Joe (the mechanic) was at the desk when my mom handed him the keys to drop the car off again, and told him that it was still squeaking, Joe said, ""we can keep fixing everything if you want to keep paying."" - with attitude! I already paid for what was supposed to be fixed - the squeaking! They now had my car again, and were going to at least fix the alignment that THEY messed up. Butch called me for an update and said that the squeaking was caused by a dry wheel bearing and that it`s not worn enough to be changed..I would`ve never paid them that much if I knew he wasn`t going to fix the main problem! He also had the nerve to tell me that he didn`t think he should fix my alignment until I bought all 4 new tires from him for $400 (even though the alignment was supposed to be re-set after performing their previous work on my car and wasn`t). We ended up bringing the car home with the same problems and now the alignment added to it, and vowed never to give them any business ever again. Later, we ended up taking my car to a shop we now go to and they told us that my tires are in good condition, with good tread. Ace Muffler Clinic will rush you off the phone, they are the biggest run-arounds and I feel like after over $700 invested with them, none of the problems specified were fixed and I just feel completely robbed. If I had written a check, I would`ve stopped payment. It makes you wonder how much they were lying all along.
