started in the Collision Repair Business in 1965 at a local Ford dealership known as Jack Thrasher Ford . During his employment of 15 years with the company he was a painter, painting purchased what was known in the Terre Haute area as Loehmans Body Shop . During his first year of ownership, he revamped the business, ended his employment with Ford and in 1979, officially opened for business as Mattingly Body Shop , His goal was to become a major player in the collision repair industry as the state of Indiana. In April 2001, twentytwo years later, a second location was opened at 3101 Erie Canal Road. At that time, the business was incorporated and became Mattingly Collision Certified with training in air bags, suspension, refinish, unibody, plastic repair and damage analysis, He serves on the advisory board for the Vigo County School Corporation, Ivy Tech College chairman with ICar, training numerous collision repair techs The north locations five frame machines and two paint booths.
