Bunch of scammers! Started ha...
Bunch of scammers! Started having noise from the rear brake on Monday, took it in on Thursday. Was told that I needed new pads on both rear brakes, new rotors and that the driver side caliper was completely ruined due to driver neglect. The car only has 27,000 miles on it in almost 3 years of owning it. Wanted to charge me $1,100 for the repair. Picked it up, took it into Ford and they came back and said, Rotors... view more and Calipers are in great shape and all it needs are new pads for $230. This location is just a bunch of scammers, don`t use them!

Avoid this place.
Please do not go to this facility. Darren, the manager, and his staff committed gross negligence, and likely did so in order to scam me out of money.
I rarely file complaints like this, but when my, or someone else`s safety is at risk, I feel it is a duty to share this story.
I brought my car into this Car-X location to use the Groupon service for a simple oil change and tire rotation. I left my car there in ... view morethe morning and also reported to Darren, the manager, that I was experience some creaking in the rear suspension and that I`d like for him to take a look at it. I received a call later in the day that the mechanics did not detect any creaking in the suspension. However, Darren said that they did notice some clunking noise in the rear. They investigated the issue and Darren determined that my rear calipers and brake rotors had rusted considerably and were at risk of not functioning properly. He recommended that all brakes, calipers, and rotors be replaced and that the brake fluid system be flushed. He quoted me that the work would be approximately $1000.
I had never heard any clunking while driving the vehicle in the past and had gotten the brakes and rotors replaced last year, so something didn`t make sense. I declined the service, picked up my car that evening, and experienced the clunking noise. It was always present, speed dependent, and occurred as long as the car was moving, not just when braking, so that didn`t seem like a brake issue to me. I decided to inspect the rear wheels, and to my absolute shock, two lug nuts on the right rear wheel were loose (able to turn with my hand), and the left rear wheel had one loose lug nut. I tightened the lug nuts using the lug nut wrench, took it for a test drive, and the problem was gone.
Now, part of me was happy that the clunking was gone, but the rest of me was infuriated. It`s become obvious to me, that the manager instructed his mechanics to purposefully loosen the lug nuts in order to create the clunking noise. This way, they could report the noise, state that my rusted brakes were the culprit, and land a $1000 brake job. Any competent and honest mechanic would have checked the lug nuts (ESPECIALLY after completing a tire rotation) first, instead of using a bogus excuse to scam me out of money. It`s absolutely disgusting, that any person, especially a mechanic, would deliberately alter a vehicle in order to ""create"" a problem just to get some work. Loosening the lug nuts on the car could have caused an accident and risked injury to myself, or someone else.
It`s a shame that mechanics try to take advantage of people. It`s an embarrassment to Darren, and his staff, and I can only advise others to avoid this facility at all costs.

Finally a honest mechanic.
I found that the manager was helpful with his knowledge to explain what needed to be done to my car. My car was fix and did not experience problems afterwards. I recommend this place to my family and friends. NO one has complained and love that fact they can be taken care of and not feel like your being taken advantage.

Better Off Elsewhere
Don`t go here. I went in for routine maintenance and came out with brakes that failed suddenly during morning rush hour. Their response? They denied all responsibility and told me the problem would cost upwards of $1500 to fix. When I got angry, they suddenly realized they could fix it free of charge. Curious. I took the car to my usual mechanic who said that he works on hundreds of Hondas (like mine) weekly an... view mored has never once performed the $1500 ""remedy"" that Car-X said was my only option. It`s well worth it to head up the street to Ashland Tire & Auto and avoid this place entirely.
