Wow!!! Best AAMCO ever!!! I towed my Volvo S60 out of the dealer after they told me that it was going to be $5200 to fix my transmission. The guys at this shop towed me for free, and then discovered my transmission was O.K. They replaced some computer, and $350 later I was on my way back home! DON`T GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TOOK MY TRUCK FOR A FREE ESTIMATE. ENDED UP SPENDING MORE MONEY THAN I HAD TOO.....THIS MIGHT BE A GOOD CASE FOR THE BETTER BUSINESS PEOPLE.

DON""T GO THAT PLACE!!!

Guys don`t go this place especially. Because I had problem with my car. They give me the cost is over 2 grants. I went other place and they changed only a thing it cost $120. Can you believe that? This place is trying to take money from you. It`s cheating. Don`t go there. You can find much better mechanic than there.

Sanford Mintz, owner, is a Sacmmer

Buyer beware!! I made the mistake of taking my car to this particular AAMCO, My car sit in this garage for almost six months without being fixed. I paid 2,891.00 thinking that they fixed the problem, but the didn`t. Sanford Mintz, aka "sandy", took my money without doing his job. The owner has SCAMMER written all over his face. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! here is a summary of a letter sent to AAMCO CUST SERV...I was literally ripped off by an eighty year old man, Sanford Mintz owner of AAMCO Transmissions at 2157 N. Cicero Ave, Chicago. IL. I will post this on as many websites as I can find...let the truth be heard

To Whom It May Concern:

This is regarding my case at one of your Mechanic Shops, in a nutshell; I was ripped off by Mr. Sa... view morenford Mintz, owner of an Ammco Transmission shop at 2157 N. Cicero Ave. 60639, Chicago. IL , he took my money, $ 2,981.00, without fixing my car which stayed in his garage for almost six months (05/31/06-11/23/06). I have proof of all this in black and white. I had to file a small claims court in order for me to get my money back, he deceived me into paying him $2000.00 in advance on 07/12/06 to get the transmission from California (that is what he claimed) and then he charged me the rest $891.00 on Sept 09/09/06 when I picked up my car. I took the car back to his shop on 09/11/06 after realizing the car hasn?t been fixed. I picked up my car on Nov 23rd after realizing that Mr. Mintz?s incompetence would never fixed my car. I had to call the police to get my car back.

I have not yet received my payment from the judgment. I will make all this information available to the public by any means necessary. Mr Sanford Mintz?s deceitful way to conduct business will be exposed to the masses. I have proof of what I claim here in black and white. I will not lie; I will simply state the truth. It is justice what I am after and justice will be served one way or another.

Avoid this one - shady!

This Aamco incorrectly diagnosed my transmission as having an internal problem after a test drive and a computer scan. The warning sign was they wouldn`t give an kind of guesstimate nor any labor rate. Said the transmission would have to be removed and opened, parts would be ordered as needed and it would be reinstalled. They did say it would cost another $350 to reinstall the transmission if we didn`t approve the... view more repair.

I went to another transmission shop which quickly recognized that the car was stuck in second gear which pointed to a bad sensor - a common Chrysler problem with a quick and easy fix. The sensor supposedly costs about $20. I paid a bit more than that but it was fixed in an hour.

Would this Aamco have replaced the sensors and lied to me or would they have taken apart and ruined a perfectly good transmission? Glad I didn`t give them the chance..
