This past July, while traveling in my 2009 Mercedes Benz 500 SL, I was involved in a serious accident in the torrential down-pour that adversely affected so many Chicagoans.

The damage to my Mercedes was estimated at over $9,500.00. I was happy that no one was hurt in the accident, but my car sure was. I take great pride in my car, and I wanted to BE SURE to have it repaired at the best shop in Chicago.

... view more I spoke to many friends and colleagues. Based on those discussions I decided to give C&W a call. I live west of the city, and a tow to Lincoln Park was going to be inconvenient. But I figured it would be worth it to have my car repaired in perfect manner.

The phone was answered by a very considerate lady. She put me through to a gentleman that really knows his business. I spent about 20 minutes with him and learned that C&W has been a family owned business here for over 23 years, along with a great staff. This information along with the answers to my other questions gave me the peace of mind I was looking for, so I chose C&W.

The car was towed in, repaired within the time it was promised and I can not even tell where the damage was. In fact, even my Mercedes Benz service department was amazed at the repairs. The car truly is as good as new!!! My Mercedes was ""engineered like no other"" and C&W Auto Body repaired it like no other. They get my highest rating!!!

Fine for a Focus up to a an F150!!!?ˆ?

Anyone that lives or drives through Chicago knows that keeping your car dent and ding free is almost impossible with the overcrowded roadways and ignorant drivers! When I first purchased my Ford Focus in Feb of `07, it only took a few months for a cab driver to ram into my brand new car on the Kennedy.

Well, let me tell you. Richard and his crew made me feel like a king. He already had the new bumper in and painted before I got there! He dealt with the insurance company (and he fought for me to have a new bumper instead of a used one!). I needed a rental for just one day, which C&W arranged.

I`m extremely picky, and I couldn`t tell at all that the bumper was ever replaced. The paint match was incredible.

Recently when I was slammed into by another cab on Lower Wacker, I needed a new bumper again. I called C&W and experienced the same courteous, professional, prompt and excellent service.

I don`t care what you drive from a Ford to a Lincoln. You WILL be treated like you are the ONLY customer. Don`t go anywhere else!!!

I recently crashed my SUV into a lightpost when I skidded on some ice. I was referred to C & W Auto Body
on Clybourn in Chicago by a good friend of mine whose wife had an accident and had great service when bringing their car to C & W. When I brought my car there, I experienced the same and more so, inspiring me to write a recommendation about them...which I

got in touch with me and set up a time for me to come in conforming to my schedule. They then began immediately working with my insurance comapny to have their estimate agreed upon by all the parties which
went incredibly smooth.

Next , was how fast they were able to perform their work. I explained that I desperately needed the car for the holidays because I had to take my family in it to Michigan. Amazingly they were able to accomplish everything and have me out the door with a car looking better than new within a week...wow!

What can I say, If you need your car fixed from a crash
or collision, call them...It`ll be like water turning into wine...THE BEST!

Excellent work... and quickly

I smashed my SUV and needed to find a good body shop that I could trust with my new truck. After talking to a few friends, I went online and looked up C&W Autobody. Everyone had told me they had great reviews. I looked at Yelp. Angies List and CitySearch and it was true. I drove my truck to their shop for an estimate and a good look around and I was very impressed. They explained everything about the estimate and wha... view moret I needed to do to get it repaired. I contacted my insurance company and told them where I wanted it repaired and that was it. C&W took care of all the rest. They dealt with the insurance company and made sure my truck looked like new again. When I picked it up... I could not believe it. It was perfect. And they repaired it 5 days sooner than my insurance company said they could. They were able to turn a bad experience into a good one. Thank You C&W.

Dont go there

I went to C&W because my sister had gone there before and had told me they give discounted rates and this was the only reason since it is out of my way and also their hours are not that great. Well I took my car in and had an estimate of almost $4,000 on my car and they told me they would call me to keep me updated when my car was in the paint dept. so I would know that once it is there it would only take one day the... view morere to dry. I never got the call so I called since it was close to three weeks and I didnt want to pay extra on the rental I had, my car was not ready they said they would call me, they called me the next day at 5:15pm to tell me my car has been ready, there is no way I would make it there by 6pm with traffic so I said I would pick it up the next day. From the outside my car looked fine minus the fact that it was washed at all inside or outside, it seems like they only washed the area that was worked on which was the front of the car, I knew this because I had a spot on the back of the car that was still there when I picked up my car. Also when I picked up my car I got there at 5:50pm and everything was closed up, I had to knock on the door for them to let me in when they still had 10 minutes left but there was only one employee and the owner who ran to get my car. I asked about the wash situation and was told it was washed I argued and asked why the entire car wasn`t washed and if they didnt detail the inside like other places do, he said no they dont do that. I have been to this other place in Rosemont called Airport Auto that details your car in and out when you take it in, i was really annoyed and wished that i would have taken it there instead since closer and better service. Anyways I felt rushed since they were packed up to leave so i gave my car a look and it seemed good but a two days later as I am walking towards my car i notice that my hood has a large gap from where it is supposed to close, I looked at another car on my street that is the same style and realized this was due to their repair so I called them to tell them that and they said to bring it in, I was going to take it the following day and noticed that I was missing my turning light, I looked closely and noticed that it was hanging from the inside, i know this is a minor thing but this had never happened before, i took it in the next morning and it seemed like I was bothering them for bringing my car in, I showed them the hood and the light that was hanging. I mean I could have got into an accident if I was on a left turn lane and I am missing that blinking light indicating I`m making the turn but it seemed they didnt care. They did bring the hood down to make the gap less noticeable and also screwed in the light, they said the light just needed to be screwed in. I told them that yes it was minor but this never happened before so it is obvious they left it loose and I shouldnt have to worry about something like that. I was very irritated that I wasted time was treated with respect and because my car wasn`t washed like advertised on their website. I know people make mistakes but I am sure they have to look at a car closely before turning it over to the customer and the hood job was soo obvious and just seemed sloppy, if it would have just been the light that came unscrewed later that would have been minor since that would be hard to go back and test out but the hood really should have been fixed before I got there since there are several people probably looking at the car before it is picked up.Never again will I go here.

Excellent Work and Customer Service

When it comes to money I trust nobody and get competitive quotes. C and W Auto Body went over my quote and found errors and over charges on the other quotes. They made me comfortable with what needed to be fixed and worked with my insurance company to make it happen. They kept me in the loop every step of the way and treated my car like the pride and joy it is to me. DO NOT GO TO C AND W AUTO BODY

So, I live in the city and recently crashed my car...I would normally go to my dealership in the suburbs but did not feel safe driving it that far and decided to take the recommendation of the insurance adjuster and went to C and W. After bringing the car in, I asked if they could quickly look at it and give me a rough time estimate. They said that they thought it would be done in about a week but that they would c... view moreall me later that day to let me know for sure... they never called me. I am pretty easy going so I didnt think much of it and just called them to check in later in the week. They had no idea and just gave me a very vague response and said to call back. After this I had to call about five times over the course of three weeks. Also, when i asked what they were even fixing on the car they reacted as if I was crazy to need to know what they were doing. Oh and the only time that they did contact me was to ask if I had an extra key since they dropped the one i gave them to begin with down the drain. Wow that made me feel really safe about the status of my car. Well, I finally got my car back today almost a month later. The work looks good, but honestly I would have no idea since I dont know much about cars. I did however notice that my gas light was on (when I dropped it off there was about a third of a tank left in it). Also, there was a burned cd that was not mine and someones empty starbucks cup in my car. I mean if youre going to take a joy ride in my car at least get rid of the evidence. There was also a gigantic chunk of my car in the back seat...do they think i want that as a memento of my horrible experience. Also, to top it off, they told me that they had found the ""lost"" key, they lied. This may seem like a small detail, but the one that they replaced it with was a total pos key. I mean they lose it and dont even replace the more expensive key that I had before. Oh and I have NEVER written a review before.
