Keep A Friend / Send An Enemy
Anit-freeze was leaking into cab of truck... heater core failure, right? This requires removal of the entire dash, not fun. I took a gamble and instead of bugging my mechanic friend to squeeze the work in before christmas I decided called around town for quotes. I was given 2 quotes from Send A Friend (SAF) after calling them twice a few days apart, $500 and $600 for just the labor and it could be done over the wee... view morekend. This price was lower than most outfits so I showed up Friday morning at SAF with the heater core in hand. I asked that if the work was going to be higher than 600 then to give me a call and we would go from there. Monday I was called by the SAF saying that an additional part was broken and it was going to be 200 bucks to fix. I was only 5 minutes away so I drove over there to have a look. They had already fixed my heater core which I was happy about until I got the final bill. $720 (not including the additional work for the broken part of $200). Where was the call I asked for? I was told that I didn`t get the phone call because the mechanic that worked on Saturday wasn`t told to call me. They also charged me $150 for 2 hoses and connections (parts only) that I didn`t ask to be replaced. If the replacement of these hoses was necessary then I would have had them do it, but I never had the chance to see the broken parts before they did the work and they threw away the replaced hoses and heater core not allowing me to check for myself if any was needed to be replaced. For all I know they just tightened up a leaking connection.
Needless to say they are not getting my business to fix the additional broken part for $200 or any other work.
Aside from these problems, I drove the truck home and my check engine light has come on and one of my windshield wipers isn`t working. These problems didn`t exists before.
I wish I could give them a `no star`, but I don`t have that option.
Hopefully by posting this review I will get a call from them and we work this out. Until then this review will stay as is.
