Never take your car to Kay Jay...

Never take your car to Kay Jay Auto Rebuilders for repairs. I will not even take my bicycle there if it only needed a bolt replaced. This shop work under sub-standard conditions and uses every opportunity to shortcut the work that they are being paid for. On top of not completing the work on time, the owner will lie to you and tell you that he will be finish with the work one day and end up not completing the job ... view morefor a month or two later. My insurance company paid to replace items after an accident and they were replaced alright, replaced with the same broken parts. This seems like insurance fraud to me and I am working on suing them to get back all the money I have had to pay out to replace items that were not fixed correctly. I gave a 1 star rating but wish I could give them a negative star rating (-10*).

chicago`s worst used car lot

I ONLY gave them a 1 because I HAD to rate them!! They aren`t even a 1!!!!!

I bought a vehicle from this terrible place. My father had done some business with the owner thru his job, and the guy told him to come back if he ever needed anything and he would make sure he got my father a good deal.
I was 18 and in DESPERATE need of a vehicle, so my father took me to this place since he had already established... view more a relationship with this guy.
Needless to say, there were PLENTY of things wrong with the vehicle after the purchase. They told me that they would fix each thing, and would have my car for about a week at a time EACH TIME they took my car to ""repair"" the vehicle. It has been almost a YEAR now!! I took it to Chrysler for warranty work (AFTER they told me the vehicle was still under factory warranty)... ONLY to find out they NEVER touched my vehicle OR replaced a SINGLE part!!! They lied and kept my vehicle on the lot so that I would think they fixed each issue. I am pregnant, and have been driving a VERY unsafe vehicle. They KNEW there was no warranty on it because it had a SALVAGE title listed on the Carfax!! (which they WOULDN`T show me at time of purchase). NOW I have to pay a lot of money for my 2008 PT Cruiser, (YES, a 2008 with ALL of these problems!) to get fixed not even a year after the original purchase!! NOW I realize why it was so cheap!! NOT because they gave me a good deal, but because they ripped me off with a rebuilt vehicle! THEN... they keep giving me temporary plates and won`t give me my plates. I have been told that may be because they haven`t paid the state the taxes on this vehicle (which I HAVE already paid them for!). What a great way to do business!!

Beware, Scam

We had a bad experience just recently with people claiming that they are from another company called Jay Kay. Notice their name is Kay Jay, almost the same. When they showed up at the scene of an accident they have their thug buddies from Pro Auto Recovery. They tell their victims that they are from Jay Kay and they work with insurance companies like state farm, they even talk to reps on the phone and give them all t... view morehe correct info. We just went through a nightmare with these people, they kept the car hostage instead of taking it to the auto repair place we authorized. Please be aware, these people are all thugs. Let other people know not to trust them and to call their own towing company. People like this always get their come-up-ins.
