I Had a very good experience at Pratt Auto Works
On a Sunday afternoon,my car broke down, and I didn`t know what to do.My friend called me and told me to take it to Pratt Auto since its open on Sunday.I towed my car there. They fixed it within 1 hour. They only charged me $65.What a bargain! The owner was a very friendly guy and the mechanic named Monty was very trained. They found the problem really fast! I recommend Pratt Auto to everybody. Thanks Tony . Excellent job!... view more

Completely Ridiculous
my car battery died twice in one week, so i drove it to the closest mechanic i could find who was open on the weekend in desperation. they told me i just needed the battery and terminals replaced. they said they would do a basic diagnostic as well to be sure and it would be finished in an hour or so. when i returned to pick it up, i put the key in the ignition and it didn`t start! excellent. i should have run sc... view morereaming.

they then decided that my alternator needed to be replaced as well. i had mentioned that to them when i brought it IN, saying that something smelled hot under the hood. it wasn`t until the car wouldn`t start with the new battery that they even looked at the alternator.

while i was at it, i asked them to repair my passenger side mirror that had been swiped off while parked on the street. they quoted me about 1/2 of what a major body shop chain had quoted me, so i said fine. but then the owner got all pushy and pedantic to me about the other cosmetic repairs they should do while they have the paint, like my bumper and other minor scratches, and i told them no. they ordered the mirror and told me to pick it up on monday.

i walk there monday after work and not only had they not started to replace my mirror, but they hadn`t bothered to call me to tell me that it wouldn`t be ready at the promised time. so i walk back home, cursing them under my breath.

i finally got my car back the next day with about $600 total in repairs and nothing but disdain for the shop.

as an aside, i happened to walk past the restroom while paying my bill and i would venture to say that it is the most vile abomination of indoor plumbing i have ever seen.

the only positive thing about this experience is that i got to tell the shop owner that i promised to write a scathing review of them online.

They will steal from you!
A mechanic named David reattached my muffler for $30 and after he was finished he walked into my driver`s side mirror, which had been previously broken and snapped it off. I had glued it back on. I asked him since it was now hanging if there was anything he could do about it. He said that he would use epoxy and glue the 2 pieces back together and that I could pick it up in the morning. I went back the following a... view morefternoon and he said that he had forgotten to glue it and had one of his guys dialing the phone to get a quote for a new mirror. He quoted me $60 and I said I didn`t have $60 and I just wanted my old mirror back. Then they heckled me about it only being $60 all the while referring to me as "little lady". I asked when I could come back and pick it up. They told me the following day. I called that Monday because I had to work the following day. When I called the guy who answered the phone said that David was not in and quoted me $70 for a new mirror at which time I raised my voice and said "that was not the agreement, I`m not going to buy a new mirror from you." The following Wednesday I returned again and saw David who told me to come back in an hour, that again, the mirror was at home. I have not yet gone back to get the mirror, but all I can think of is how manipulative and ignorant these people are. I`m planning to return there with the police! DO NOT EVER GO TO PRATT AUTO- CUSTOMER BEWARE!!!!!!!!
