My wife went there because the check engine light was on and the car was shaking (alignment of course). I was at work unfortunately, so I could not be there. They told her that she has a split in two tire and some metal was showing on 3 of the tires. This, my dear readers, was a lie. I went and got the tires from them and brought them home. There was no metal showing and the only problem I saw was a little alignment rubbing on the ends of the tire. Most of the time, the fix would be to rotate, balance, and align. O no, no my faithful readers, we ended up shelling out close to 500 dollars for brand new tires that were not needed. So if you find yourself stuck for some reason in Winder, either by choice or mere coincidence, do not, I repeat do not even stop here for the free coffee. Oh wait the coffee even cost money.

Don`t waste your time going here

Don`t go here for anything.Just spent 282.00 on back brakes. My first clue should have been the fact that all their bays were empty.When you can pull right up and get service at a small town shop, something is wrong. when you ask for an explanation of charges, he starts to rattle off stuff. Great car salesman, when this place goes out.

Worst Experience Ever...and we`re talking about mechanics

Recently moved to the area, went in due to a check engine light, was told it was a gas cap issue. Replaced cap, paid roughly $60 and went on my way. Next day, check engine light back on, went back in and they said it was an A/C issue now, the compressor, dryer and belts needed to be replaced, they quoted me $1100. I called around and the price seemed in line with other shops and almost $200 less then the dealershi... view morep, so I agreed. 3 days later the car was done and I went to pick it up; the bill was $1454!!! That was over a $150 more then the dealership! I asked why it was more then they quoted me and I was given some lame excuse about how the parts were more then expected or something. Since they do not give their quotes in writing (just call you over the phone), there was nothing I could do but pay and leave. 1 day later, the check engine light came back on. I then took my car to another shop and all that was wrong with it was the thermostat. I had it replaced there and the light has been out ever since. To add insult to injury, less than a month later, my air conditioning stops working. Are you kidding me? I call back to ""Quality Tire & Auto"" and they informs me it is probably just a leak in the line or something minor; it is covered under their warranty, just bring it in and it will be fixed. I do so and it is fixed the same day. Great. They call me to pick it up, I get there and I am told it is another $65.10. He states that it was an A/C relay that burned out and that is not part of the warranty! They are a complete rip off and I have a good mind to report them to the better business bureau. Do not take your car there unless you enjoy taking it on the chin. They lie about their quotes (be sure to get it in writing and not just a call over the phone), charge more than the delaership, do shoddy work, fix things that are not broken (that in turn later break) and never diagnose the problem correctly. My advise, go anywhere but here!

Terrific repair shop

Folks, this is one of the good auto repair shops -- they tell you what`s wrong, they don`t try to "up sell" repairs that you don`t really need, and the work is of excellent quality. I`ve had timing belts replaced, tune ups, and a host of other repairs that are done right the first time. Other people I know have had the same experience. Repair Service

As a driver of a 13 year old vehicle I have encountered many problems locating a good auto repair location before finding Bass Mims Tire & Service Company. When I bring my vehicle here, I receive excellant and timely service, with my vehicle ready when it is supposed to be. They are able to locate parts for my older vehicle. If you are thinking of getting your tires changed or vehicle work done here, think again. This place has no respect for customers. If they tell you an hour for the work, add an hour. If you don`t pin them down, stop at the post office and have your mail forwarded to you. The waiting room is a filthy holding cell. Better conditions at Guantanamo Bay for Al Quaida terrorists than for Bass Mims victims. Things live and ... view morereplicate in the bathroom. Stay away - Stay away!
