My car had a transmission fluid leak earlier this year. I contacted Certified Transmission since, based on the address listed in their Yellow Pages ad, they were located within 5 miles of my house in Macon. As it turns out, they are located in Warner Robins, about 30 minutes away. The individual I spoke with, Rick, rambled on and on about various topics until he finally asked what was wrong. He said he could have my vehicle towed to his shop at no cost, and he never mentioned his shop was located so far away. He explained various possible repair costs ranging from $80.00 to $589.00, depending on what he found once he inspected the vehicle. Once the car was at his shop, I had to wait until Monday (since I called on a Saturday) to hear anything. On Tuesday, he stated my transmission was completely destroyed (it was not because I had driven the car prior to my calling him on Saturday. It shifted fine...just had a leak). When he quoted a final cost of $2,500 for the repair, I balked and said not to make any repairs. He then said he would do the work for $1,900. When I again refused, he quoted a $589 cost just for diagnosing the issue. He said I had agreed to that, which I had not. My car was not worth more than $1,500, so I never would have agreed to that high a cost just for diagnosis. Rick said he had to disassemble my transmission to find the problem, and the car was taking up one of his lifts. My advice to potential customers? Stay far away from this shop!

Never take you car here!! Mine...

Never take you car here!! Mine had a knocking that I took here to be fixed, told me the bearings needed replacing at a cost of 350. I had the work done and had a couple of more calls about warn out parts that needed to be replaced now, since they would be going out a some time in the near future. I agreed to have the work done for a new total of 1200. they stated they repairs would be as good as a rebuild engine, and... view more would give me a 6,000 mile 6 month warranty. I drove off the lot with it sounding great. after 5 days and 100 miles the knocking returned and I took it back, they told me that the warranty was invalid and I would have to pay for further repairs. This place is very dishonest and a major ripoff.
