Incredibly Horrible
I ordered some parts I needed for a repair. On a positive note, when I called to check if they arrived on schedule, I was told that they did. I ordered an exhaust pipe, and the two gaskets and clamps it needed for installation. I walked in and handed my ITEMIZED receipt to the guy behind the counter in the parts department. He took the reciept and returned with the exhaust pipe. I walked out, and realized that t... view morehe gaskets and clamp were not there. I went back in, and he said, ""Oh, it`s missing some parts."" He went back to get the other parts, and returned with one gasket and one clamp. Before I walked out, I realized that I still needed the other gasket. I went back up to the desk and said, ""I paid for two gaskets, and you gave me one."" At this point, the guy turns to another worker and says, ""Oh, you didn`t give her the one we have in stock?"" As if all three of us had not been standing right there the entire time, and as if there was any chance this guy could have given me the fourth part. So the first guy goes back for the third time, and finally hands me the other gasket.
I head over to MIdas to complete the repair (they quoted me a much better price than the dealer--30% less), and a few hours later they call me to report that the repair is complete, despite the fact that the Toyota dealer had sold me the WRONG gasket, and had not included the needed bolts to install the part. The Midas shop was kind enough to throw in some parts at no cost, in order to complete the repair.
I went back to the Toyota dealer to return the gasket, informing them that they sold me the wrong one. They wordlessly refunded my money, with no apology whatsoever. If the guys at MIdas (on Manatee Ave.) did not happen to be so nice, my car would still be in disrepair, and I might be stranded.
In conclusion, Gettel Toyota-Kia sucks, and they are lucky I did not go postal in their shop. A relative of mine who lives in Bradenton (independant of this incident) has sworn off Toyotas, not because they are not great cars, but because she refuses to deal with these people.
