HOME OF THE $20.00 OIL CHANGE!
Reviews:
My car overheated so I had it towed to this location because they were close by. After testing my engine they said the battery, hoses, and the entire engine would need to be replaced and gave me an estimate for $2700. I said, "Thats more than I paid for the car." and the guy on the phone said, "Well, maybe thats why you are having these problems." Every time I had to correspond with this salesm... view morean, he was rude. I decided to get my car towed across town to my personal mechanic. He told me that the engine did NOT need to be replaced, just a few hoses and the battery terminal. I paid $300 to him and it has been running fine ever since. Midas is a complete rip off! DO NOT come here for any service!

ridiculous....
Just called to get a quote on an air condtioning charge for my 4 year old car and also to replace 2 o-rings that are EASILY accessible. The quote was $169. Definitely highest quote than anyone else I have called. RIP OFF!

Steer Away and Never Look Back!!!
About two months ago, my car?ˆ™s breaks were squeaking loudly which is a sign to have it checked. I have an honest mechanic that I?ˆ™ve been going to for years but unfortunately he is not open on weekends and my work schedule during the week is unforgiving. So I decided to give the Midas branch on Alafaya and Colonial Drive a try. One thing to note, always ask for a quote before allowing them to work on your car. In thei... view morer quote, they indicated that not only were my break pads bad but my rotors were also damaged beyond repair and need to be replaced, about a $500 job. They were adamant that driving this car any further is VERY dangerous and guaranteed that I was going to get into an accident if I ignored their service. Sensing something amiss, I declined and they continued to voice out scare comments as I walked towards and out the door. Very upset, I decided to leave my car with my usual mechanic the following Monday and called in a pick-up/drop-off favor from a friend. My mechanic called me that same morning and said that all you need are break pads, the rotors are just fine and undamaged and my cost is only $75. I?ˆ™m not the type of person who writes reviews but I just felt obligated to warn potential customers about this Midas branch?ˆ™s dirty scamming tricks! I am convinced that if my knowledge about cars and parts were not sufficient, I would have been scared right out off $500. As of today, my breaks are still quiet and perfect! It`s hard to find honest mechanics these days.

NEVER EVER Go to this place.
They are a rip off!
My car wouldn`t start. So asked AAA to tow it to shop A. But the AAA driver insisted shop A was a rip-off and Midas is a good one(perhaps the AAA driver has some sort of payback agreement with these guys:)
So I decided to give Midas a chance. They diagnosed the problem as a faulty fuel pump and said that it would cost me 1680 USD out the door (Now keep in mind... view more that price as you read on...as later I get a genuine quote from another place)
Since I was reeling after a transmission change, I said I just needed a bare-bones repair to get to a dealer. So Miss "KC" at the shop taking pity on my plight (yeah right!) quoted a price of 980 USD. I asked Miss "KC" why she charged me that kind of money and she said my vehicle`s fuel pump ws close to 600 USD and this was the best she could do, sorry et al.
In utter desperation, I decided to check out the price at Advance Auto parts. I was amazed at the price quoted..120 USD. Then I knew that Miss "KC", the rep at Midas was on her merry way to rip me off BIG time!
So I promptly called Agner Auto(which is an extremely dependable one in Orlando...this is the second time I am using them. i dint tow it to them at first because they did not do anything electrical and my car had a start-issue) and asked for quote on a fuel pump replacement job. I was quoted a min of 350 and a max of 400 USD!(now compare it to what Miss "KC" was going to do me in for!)
At this point called Miss "KC" at Midas and told that my car would be towed out of her shop immediately. But she said I had to clear the diagnostic bill. Well how much could that be..right?
She said, 80+ tax=90 USD!!!! Now, that folks is a major rip-off, because normally nobody charges anything upwards of 40 for an engine diagnostic in Orlando.
Well there is my UGLY experience with this Midas at the corner of Alafaya and route 50. They tried to take advantage of me when I was in a real vulnerable situation. So people AVOID this place if you can. That said, I do not know about their service. But looking at my experience one can definitely surmise they have a fraudulent approach towards the automotive repair business.
