We just moved from Colorado an...

I recommend this shop 100%! We just moved from Colorado and were looking for an honest mechanic and after doing much research on this website, I decided to call Robert Tau Automotive because of their promising reviews. They were able to get my car in the shop right away. The brakes were no longer working and it had to be towed (which was not a problem.) We worried that the cost of fixing the brakes would be too mu... view morech after how much money we`ve had to put into my car in the past. Fortunately, they gave us an estimate way below our expectations (especially after we heard all that they were doing to fix the car) and were overjoyed! Now I have my car back in great working condition and we will always recommend this shop to others. Take your car there if you want an honest mechanic at a great price ! I really don`t think you`ll regret it!

The Best

I recommend Robert to all of my friends and family. Not only is he someone who is honest in business and great at his job, but he takes the time to remember his customers. He provides such great service that I am willing to drive across town simply for an oil change.

sorry if I was rude

Mr Tau may come across as abrupt at times, (especially when he`s busy) but he knows his cars and charges very fairly. I have a GMC envoy and was having a really bad day and may have misconstrued his actions as rude when he did not mean to be. He fixed the relay problem with the headlights and was very courteous to my wife. Thanks again and i do apologize

No better mechanic in town!

I`ve taken my `97 Chevy Lumina to Robert on several occasions over the past couple of years: intake manifold gasket, motor mounts, struts, and a couple other things...I`ll be calling him again soon for a leaky transmission. He does it all at a very fair price and the job is done right the first time. I highly recommend Robert Tau and his team of mechanics. They`re just good people.

Bad U-Joint

Took my `03 Jeep Wrangler in with a rear differential problem. A buddy and I replaced the busted up factory rear end with a Detroit Locker 4.10 rear end back in the spring of `08. I noticed one day after arriving at work the smell of gear oil. Afraid of what I would find, I looked under at the rear end and saw a very leaky rear end, particularly near where the pinoin came out and mated with the U-joint. Crap-ola.... view more New to the Pensacola area, some guys I work with immediately brought up Robert Tau`s. I Google`d him and found this website, read the reviews... and decided I really had no other choice. I took the Jeep into him the next day early in the morning. He already was packed full of other cars waiting to be serviced. He came out personally and greeted me. Some guys from work had already spoke with him via telephone, so he had a head`s up of my problem. He took a quick peek underneath and told me that my U-joint had gone bad and that he would have his mechanics look at it. It was a Friday and he told me that it would either be today or the following Monday. Shook hands and I was on my way. He had called me later that day and left a message that my Jeep was good-to-go and ready to be picked up. I didn`t get the message until 17:30... but I decided to call him anyways at the number he had left. Spoke with him and he told me that he would meet me at 18:00 to settle up business. I am not sure, but I think that he went out of his way to help me out that evening. Met up with him... he informed me that my buddy and I had improperly put in the rear end (ouch to the ego) and that he and his crew fixed her up. The U-joint had gone bad, but there were other disasters awaiting to happen had I not took action when I did. He educated me without making me feel like a complete idiot (other that I should have read the directions better in the manual... with a smile). The service was friendly and the price was extremely reasonable. Highly recommend.

Satisfied customer

Great service. A company you can really trust. Went to the car dealership to have my car fixed. Took three times and $800.00 and still not fixed. Was told about Robert Tau so I went there and he replaced a $26.00 part, plus the labor, and that was it!!!!! I could have saved over $600.00 if I had known about him first. Never will go to anyone else but him. Learned my lesson the hard way.

Took my 2002 Chevy Venture to Robert Tau thinking it had dying lifters; he knew immediately what the real problem was (leaking intake manifold gasket) and told me he does those regularly. I was in no rush so was able to leave it with him a few days; the work done was excellent as was the price. I do most of my own wrenching, but that motor is simply too difficult to work on (no room). In addition to the gasket, he... view more replaced the plugs and wires (right side bank is inaccessible to normal human arms) and the thermostat (nice touch, another awkward job but easy when access is gained for the manifold gasket). A good and honest mechanic with fair prices......can`t beat that. Highly recommended.
