Surprisingly Great
I was in a bind, because I had car trouble while visiting Bradenton from Chicago, and did not have time to research repair shops. I was reluctant to go to Midas, because I usually avoid big-name chain businesses for car repair, since they tend to be sub-par and overpriced. This shop proved me wrong. Kevin, the manager, as well as the mechanic (sorry, I do not know his name), truly went out of their way to help dia... view moregnose and fix the problem.
First, Kevin informed me that the repair may be covered under the car`s warranty, and that I should take it to the Toyota dealer. He was nice enough to call the dealer in advance to inquire about the coverage.
The problem turned out not to be covered. Kevin called four auto supply companies to try to locate the parts I needed. Unfortunately, nobody had the parts, so I had to order them from the (horrible) Bradenton Toyota dealer. That`s another story, but one of the problems was that they sold me the wrong gasket for the replacement part and did not provide the needed bolts for installation. Kevin at Midas improvised a solution, using a close-enough gasket and workable-enough bolts that he happened to have in his store. He did not charge me anything for these parts. Also, the cost of the repair was at least $50 less than the price the Toyota dealer estimated (though most likely they would have inflated the price from what they told me, as they seem like absolute scumbags).
There were several opportunities for Midas to try to cash in on my predicament, and they simply did not try to do that. They seem to have a lot of integrity, and I really appreciated their help.
