bad service
I have had my AMG C32 serviced here at Pepe Benz in White Plains.
First time, my glove compartment lid had fallen off, so I took it in to have the lid put back on. I showed the service manager exactly what was broken (which was on the passenger floor) and that I needed the lid put back on. I asked asked to have an inspection performed. The manager promised a quick fix and a car wash.
I received the call saying... view more that the car was ready after a couple of days. I paid the repair fee and then came out to pick up the car. The car was not washed, which was not a big deal. I got in the car and noticed that the glove compartment lid was still on the passenger side floor. I immediately spoke to the service manager who told me that he replaced the center console cover because that was broken. I told him that was not broken and that I had asked to have have the glove compartment lid fixed which was obviously broken. The service manager refused to refund the money. I did not want to waste my money arguing so I asked that the glove compartment lid be fixed. A few days later I received the car with the lid put back on.
On the way back home, I noticed that there was a big noise coimng from the front area everytime i turned or stopped. Not trusting the shop, I took it to a local Porsche shop where I have my porsche serviced. They immediately noticed that the front sub frame was lose, and told me that this should have been immediately noticeable by the Benz since it was dangerous.
When my car`s service B light turned on. I took it to Pepe. Services B is substantially checking various check points in addition to an oil change. After $600 my car was ready, and I drove 3 miles home and left it parked over the weekend. Monday, car will not start - dead battery. I have Benz come over to jump start the car and get on the highway to go to a client. I get a warning light that says too much oil in the engine. Since I only driven a mile from home, i take it home to change to my other car. The next day, the battery is dead and will not start. I take it to Benz after a jump start. Another $180 for a diagnosis (after service B which I paid $600 to check everything!) now the seat motor is dead.
It seems everytime I take my car there, something comes back broken, and charge me for something they`ve incorrectly fixed, or did not even do properly.
I ended up having my porsche mechanic come get the car from Benz to have them fix it at a much cheaper price.
