Thievery!!
They tried to charge me 200% on the parts and labor, and they charge a $60 minimum just for bringing the car their. Extremely over-priced. They left greasy, oily finger prints and smudge marks all over my khaki interior. Tow service is at least $100, SO PICK SOMEONE ELSE. These people are thieves, and they`ll lie to your face about having ""the cheapest prices."" THIEVES. ABSOLUTE THIEVES. Untrustworthy.

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! LOST MY CAR
WARNING DON GLO TOWING DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TOW YOUR VEHICLE. WHILE TOWING OUR VOLVO TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A KEY REPLACEMENT, THE DRIVER ADMITTED TO MAKING A MISTAKE CAUSING THE GAS TANK TO RUPTURE. HOWEVER MANAGEMENT WILL NOT PAY FOR THE SERVICE. I HAVE A FAMILY AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE MY CAR FOR A WEEK NOW DUE TO DON GLO`S INCAPABILITIES

Service call through AAA
The man who came to jumpstart our car was especially nice, polite and efficient. I don`t usually write reviews, but he was great.

Jokers
First off, read the 5 star review here carefully. It is a shill for Don and for AAA membership, not a real experience. Be careful of that on the net. Everyone has brother-in-law that will write a glowing review of someone that is getting justly slammed on CitySearch. I called AAA for a tow truck. When Don Glo arrived, I greeted the tow truck driver with a map to the repair shop, and was promptly told that the ... view moremap was not good. I looked at it and it seemed to show all the streets, but he could not use it. He said he could not take my car without proper directions. I told him I would get AAA to send someone else. He begrudgingly agreed to take my car. He grumped around, pressed the levers, hooked it up and drove off with a wave. I had actually expected him to come and present some paperwork,.. like an authorization or a receipt for the car?. but the p&*sed-off driver simply got into the truck and drove away with my car. Use Don Glo and his jokers at your own risk. And don?t try to be nice and get them a map?...it will just make them angry that you gave them one with streets on it, instead of whatever it is they use to find a destination.

High prices, extra charges, inaccurate quotes
I had a towing done by AAA, to the AAA-certified shop Don Glo. Don Glo provided inaccurate quotes and charged extra money for parts needed for the car. Foul and abusive language was frequently used between the people in the store. Not recommended in general.

Honest, friendly, reliable, affordable AAA shop
An honest, friendly, and fair auto repair shop that`s also an American Automobile Association (AAA) shop with ASE certified mechanics, and is a AAA towing service (another real gem). Everyone should use a AAA shop and have a AAA membership that pays for itself the first time you are locked out of your car, have a dead battery, need a tow, want discount travel, or free road maps and tour books. -- From a very happy ... view more10 year AAA member. Update Dec 2011 - Funny, I ran across this old review while I was looking up Don Glo`s number and read some of the other reviews. 1) I`m not affiliated with Don Glo or AAA in any way. Anyone reading reviews shouldn`t discount a 5-star review based on someone else`s 1-star review/comment. Internet reviews are what they are WYSIWYG. Judge for yourself by visiting, getting an estimate, and if the estimate is fair, by the quality of the finished work. What you get with a AAA shop is nationwide warranty of their work. No need to take my word for it...look up AAA, read the benefits, do the math. 2) Foul language - Don Glo Yonkers is a small shop with two garage bays, with very small office and sitting area. You can see and hear just about anything and everything that goes on (that`s a good thing). So possibly foul language (I`ve never notice it myself) and smoking (yes unfortunately) but I tolerate it because honest good mechanics are hard to find. Were you expecting Ms. Manners? 3) Real experiences - Called AAA for my mom`s car that wouldn`t start. Tow driver came by, wiped and removed the distributor cap and the car started (it was rainy/drizzling that day). He then recommended we bring it in to be checked and probably replaced. We avoided a tow and I was impressed. Don Glo has taken care of my cars ever since the 1990s. I remember another notable experience...I brought in my car after the brakes started to fail, they called and gave me an estimate for a bad ?master cylinder?, fixed it, out of the shop. Done. No pushing for other ""maintenance"" work. Whenever I bring my car in, they consistently diagnose a problem and fix only the problem ... perhaps even to to a fault. They don`t push unnecessary repairs or maintenance work that other shop`s money train such a fluid changes, suspension, alignments, and tire rotations every XXXX flipping miles. If there is a criticism is that they sometimes forget to get back to you, and you have to call and follow-up, and the smoking. I`ll take an honest mechanic any day over a pushy smiley mechanic/sales/service dept at a dealership selling you everything under the sun. There are too many dishonest mechanics/shops (and people). I`m happy with Don Glo. Your mileage may vary.
