Woodland Auto Body WAS FOUNDED IN 1924 BY ALBERT REDMER. FOR THE NEXT 30 YEARS IT OPERATED UNDER THE NAME OF WOODLAND TRUCK PAINTING COMPANY EXCLUSIVELY AS A TRUNK PAINTING COMPANY. WOODLAND WAS THE PREEMINENT OIL TRUCK PAINTING FACILITY FOR THE MAJORITY OF OIL DELIVERY TRUCKS IN THE CENTRAL CONNECTICUT AND WESTERN MASS AREAS. SOLON L. WEINER PURCHASED WOODLAND IN 1952 AND CHANGED THE NAME OF THE BUSINESS TO Woodland Auto Body. WHILE MOST OF THE BUSINESS WAS STILL DEDICATED TO TRUCK PAINTING, WOODLAND BEGAN TO REPAIR AUTOMOBILES AS WELL. WHEN THE OIL EMBARGO HIT IN 1973, WOODLAND SHIFTED IT`S FOCUS TO BECOME PREDOMINATELY AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP. BY 1985, WOODLAND WAS TOTALLY OUT OF THE PAINTING BUSINESS, AND NOW EXISTS STRICTLY AS A PREMIER BODY REPAIR FACILITY FOR ALL MAKES AND MODELS OF FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC CARS AND LIGHT TRUCKS. HOWARD N. WEINER JOINED THE BUSINESS IN 1977 AFTER A CAREER AS THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS AT CONNECTICUT COLLEGE IN NEW LONDON. HE IS THE PRESIDENT AND CEO. JOHN BADAL JOINED WOODLAND IN 1989. HE IS THE MANAGER OF THE PAINT SHOP. WHILE HE SUPERVISES ALL AREAS OF REFINISHING AND CAR CLEANING, HIS AREA OF EXPERTISE IS IN THE COLOR MATCHING DEPARTMENT PRISCILLA MONSTREAM IS THE OFFICE MANAGER. SHE JOINED WOODLAND IN 1993 AFTER A LONG CAREER WITH THE SAVINGS BANK OF MANCHESTER. IT`S PRISCILLA`S CHEERY VOICE AND EVER PRESENT SMILE THAT GREETS EVERYONE. SHE KEEPS US ON OUR TOES, AND ESSENTIALLY, HOLDS THE WHOLE OPERATION TOGETHER. I was very pleased with my experience with this business. I had a car accident and brought my car to this company per the suggestion of the paying insurance company. The person that I dealt with (Carl or Karl), guiding me through the whole process with speaking to the adjusting, getting a rental car and keeping me informed when there was delays. Dishonest Crooks! Check your w...

Dishonest Crooks! Check your wallet before you leave this place because they picked my pocket. They kept the car a day longer than promised and gave me an all inclusive price of $580 but then the charged me over $730 when I came to pick up the car. There are lots of other garages in the area... do yourself a favor and go to them instead.

Great Service, Friendly Staff

I ran across Performance Auto when my car needed so body work. Someone had hit my car when it was parked. I needed to get estimates from 3 different places and Performance was one of the places. I chose to have my car repaired there solely based on the cost and the method of repair. But I got much more. They were very friendly and communicative and went out of their way to accomodate me. Well, I have had my share of nightmares with my local dealership over the past few years even after being a loyal customer through their sales staff. A friend told me about a place in Dobbs Ferry that I should try.Well sure enough I wasn`t going back to the dealer again.So I took their phone # and put it in my phone just in case because I do live in the local area.Well one day I had a car accident and I gave p... view moreerformance a try.I gave them a call and they said we will be glad to help you just bring your car in anytime and someone will be available to give you a free estimate for repairs.Sure enough it was May 20th that I decided to drive my car to Performance.I parked in front of their storefront and went inside.I met this very friendly service man named Dave.He had asked me a few questions regarding insurance and so forth.Next thing you know I was greeted by the owner him self,Karl Kaye.I have never been so delighted to be able to have an estimate yet have it explained in detail so well.I had mentioned to Karl that I had a budget and he stated let me see what I can do for you.Well needless to say my repairs were estimated at 1,750.00.I was very excited because the last estimate I had I had was quoted at $500.00 more.Right their I was saving.He explained that the car would be better than it was before the accident.I was very happy to hear that.With that being said I decided to make an appointment to have my car repaired.I brought it in the next day and the day after it was finished! I was literally astounded .Karl brought the car up to where I originally went to and that was the service area.He had asked me to come outside and check my vehicle over to make sure I was happy.Sure enough after looking at the quality that was performed I was indeed very happy.When I went back inside to pay, Dave gave me a free oil change to use on any car,anytime just for giving them the opportunity to work on my car.Well in the midst of things I just so happened to need a tuneup.I had asked if I could bring my car in for a once over.It turned out that I was able to bring my car in two days after the bodywork.I`ll tell you this...I got my free oil change which was very nice.The day my car was their I found out that I needed some,not alot of work done.They replaced my front brakes and rotors and performed a tune-up and a fuel injection service.After the work was performed my car felt like it was new ..once again-Thank you performance! You have a loyal customer from now on.I will make sure my friends no where to come for whatever their car may need.
