I went to Firestone because I bought my
I went to Firestone because I bought my tires from a Firestone location in Texas a few years ago and they are still under warranty. I went in for a nail that was in my tire`s sidewall, unrepairable. They told me my shocks were completely blown and it was causing cupping on my tires. They said I needed new shocks ($866), a new set of tires ($800), and an alignment ($79). He was gracious enough to offer to knock off a ... view morecouple hundred so my total would only be $1500 and luckily for me they offer interest free financing for the first 6 months.
I decided to get a second opinion. I took my car to the Toyota dealership in Aurora and they told me my shocks were absolutely fine and not damaging my tires. They said the feathering had come from an alignment problem I`d had taken car of a year or two ago. My tires are in great condition and I only need to replace the one with the nail in it.
DO NOT GO HERE. Firestone will take advantage of you. I will say that the man I dealt with was very kind, for a lying thief.

Dishonest, rude and ""iffy"" quality
This Firestone is rude and dishonest. Good luck if they have anything in your tire size and the service manager there was so rude. I brought my car in for an electrical issue and there were some extra time needed on the car because their system misquoted them on labor time. So instead of me paying what I signed the paperwork for, they charged me for the extra labor. A good shop would have covered that half of the lab... view moreor and I would say that was okay but no. I took the time to bring in coupons and they also want to push their Firestone card on you. When I say no don`t keep bugging me about it especially when we are in the middle of a recession.
Just watch yourself when you go there - to be honest, I would go to a different chain. No wonder discount tire is the empire of the car business and dealers are worth the extra price to avoid headaches.
The quality of the work was mediocre at best. Watch yourself.

You can NEGOTIATE prices here!
I find the previous reviews a little unfair on here, because I never feel like I`ve gotten ripped off at this Firestone. But then whenever I`ve faced a more expensive repair or service, I always call around and get quotes and then ask Firestone to meet the best price, AND THEY DO IT! And they act like they`re used to that and don`t mind a bit! In many years of using this place, I`ve gotten countless oil changes,... view more one set of tires with wheels, a thermostat, a master cylinder, AND an entire clutch kit replaced at one point. They definitely are better suited for tires and oil changes though. I`d recommend leaving the more complicated mechanical jobs (like clutches) to a more specialized shop, because the clutch I got didn`t last. But do your homework and then haggle a little bit on the price - you might be pleasantly surprised. Their location is perfect for downtown workers too.

Horrible People!
I was having problems with my car not starting.
I called them and told them that I thought it might be the starter, and was looking for a price quote for a new starter. The woman said she`d call me back. I told her not to worry, that I would just drop my car off there shortly so they could look at it.
When I dropped my car off- the man behind the desk presented me with a cost estimate for the start... view moreer.
I told him that we first needed to make sure if the problem had to do with the starter or not. I started crying because the cost for a new starter was $700. I was completely overwhelmed by this and told him that I did NOT have the money for a new starter if that was indeed the problem with the car.
He assured me that he would not do any work on the car- but that he would just check it out to see what was wrong with it.
He said, ?ˆ?It might not even be the starter. It sounds to me like a battery or an alternator problem.?ˆ?
I told him to not do any work on the car until he called me to tell me what was wrong with it.
I told him that I did not want to sign the form that he gave me, because of the cost estimate on the form.
He told me that signing the form simply ?ˆ?Gives us permission to operate the vehicle.?ˆ? and that without signing the form- they could not look at my car.
He assured me that they would not do any work on the car until they figured out what was wrong.
The man was rude, and kept saying, ""Listen, Ma`am, I`m not the one who broke your car.""
Two hours later, they called me to tell me that my car was complete, and that they had replaced the starter in it. Not only that- but they were going to charge me $1100 for it!!!!!!!
My boyfriend went down there and told them to take the starter out of the car.
We then took it to another mechanic who said there was absolutely nothing wrong with the starer.
I took my car to Firestone because, like a lot of their customers, it is close to work and convenient. I would rather crawl on my hands and knees, down I-25 to get to work every day than to ever take my car to this place again. They are so dishonest and were completely rude to me from the beginning.
Side note: I got TWO cost estimates from other mechanics, for new starters, and both of them were around $300 (for parts and labor).

Dishonest
My boyfriend took my car here for a routine oil change. He took it here because of it`s location near his work -- he dropped it off before work and picked it up afterwards. They found a nail in one of my tires and told him that it was not repairable because it was too close to the side wall. So they sent him home with an estimate for 2 new tires - $222.
I took my car to my trusted Swis tire (I-25 and Broadway) ... view moreto get their opinion, and if necessary, a quote for new tires. They took a quick glance at it, said it was repairable and offered to repair it right then for free! What a relief!!! I left Swis 10 minutes later with a repaired tire, and I didn`t have to spend over $200 like Firestone was going to charge!
I don`t recommend taking your car to Firestone, if my experience is any indication of their honesty. I mean, they`re a TIRE place for pete`s sake! And they can`t repair a nail hole? What a scam.
