The only honest estimate out of 3 body shops
I normally don`t write reviews even when I`ve had a bad experience as the cynic in me believes that a lot of bad reviews are removed by companies (there are services out there that to perform this service). One has to read the reviews with a critical eye and do their own grunt work to ferret out the noise/hype from facts.
I was looking up the phone number for Cherry Creek Collision this morning since I will need t... view moreheir services again as someone backed into my car yesterday and caused considerable damage. I must admit, I was surprised to see the two reviews on CCC. I have no affiliation/relation with the shop/Steve nor do I have any reason to believe that the two other negative reviews are anything but the truth. That said, I thought I would throw my $.02 because my experience was totally different.
Early last summer I inadvertently pulled my car too far over a parking space tie (the cement blocks at the front of the parking space) at my office. I am fortunate enough to have a 550i with the sport package but sometimes not alert enough as to the little headaches this can cause especially in a parking lot. Long-story short, as I backed my front bumper caught on to the 3 inches of iron rod that was sticking out of the top of the tie and popped off. I could push the right side back in but it would not stay, all the electrical worked, no paint damage.
After making an appointment to get in and see Bodyworks by MMI (Murray Motor Imports) they gave me an estimate of approximately +/- $1200 (I don`t recall the exact amount). The very courteous, experienced and professional looking estimator told they had to order a new bumper and then prime and paint it accordingly. Fair enough. Having used Bodyworks before for an insurance claim I know that they do good work but are sometimes a little high on price (per the insurance claims adjuster). A good friend of mine swore by Nylunds, so I figured I would get an estimate there to see if I would save any $$ since I would be paying out of pocket - I conveyed this information to all estimators (not filing an insurance claim).
The lady at Nylunds was easy to work with - unlike Bodyworks, I did not need to make an appointment to fit into their schedule. She also seemed very experienced and professional; her pricing was basically the same as Bodyworks.
Because of my own stupidity/carelessness I was going to be shelling out $1200 for something that didn`t seem to be like a $1200 problem. I sat on this for a couple weeks and decided to search for other providers in the central Denver area. I came across Paddock Imports which had some awesome reviews but only did mechanical work (caveat emptor - see beginning of this review). I figured I would call the owner - Doug - and see if he could give me some recommendations. After critically reading the reviews, It was obvious this guy had built up a great rep in the community and took pride in his work. And after getting some scuttlebutt, he didn`t gauge his customers (he has a great rep with BMW owners) when he could have easily charged more since they TRUSTED him to do the right thing. Doug referred me to Cherry Creek Collision. I made it over to see Steve. He took a look at my front bumper and said it would cost about $250-$300 - he wasn`t too sure if a new bracket was needed. I was so stunned I asked him to repeat it again since I found it hard to believe that two well highly recommended, experienced shops were either 1) that incompetent or 2) that dishonest. I told him my experience with the other two shops - he just chuckled a little bit. The car looked great, was done on time and at the mid point of the estimate. This was done at the beginning of the summer, maybe things have changed at the shop, maybe there are some personal issues with Steve, etc.. and maybe the estimators at both Bodyworks and Nylunds were having a bad day but I will be giving Steve a call on Monday to have him look at my car.

Cherry Creek Collision (FAIL)
Years ago CCC was the place u wanted your car if needing repaired. It was terrific workers back then. However Steve let go or the terrific workers left and went elsewhere which i didn`t know. I took my car in for a front fender repair and the work is HORRIBLE now a days. I believe Steve has workers now a days right off the boat if u know what i mean. NO good workers at all. My car was at CCC for 5months. I picked up ... view moremy car and it is still not in a terrific condition. I never ever even drive the car now. Steve really ruined my car scratched up the paint and every other bad thing that his workers can do they did it to my car. It`s horrible. STEVE IS IN DENIAL! He should close shop permanently. I picked the car up Steve said it is nothing else we can as far as repairs are concerned. So, i didn`t have a choice other than pick up my car. His shop certainly ruined my car. Today my car just sits and dont drive it at all. Will be trading it in for something else. You really did me in a bad way Steve! But you got your money so what do you care. And not to mention Steves daughter whom works in the front has MUCH BAD ATTITUDE! I`m like why is she upset it`s my car that YOU guys have damaged up even more than what it was before i brought it in.
