Fix one thing -then find and Break more to charge more

At first these guys were good, went in for an oil change and all went well so came back for other needs. Well that was a MISTAKE (not once but twice). First I went in for a new battery. Could have bought it and went home to install myself but had a coupon for a few install; so why not save me the time. Well they installed the battery then just walked-away from the vehicle, for about 10 minutes. So I went to ask what ... view morethe problem was. And as if by magic the water pump was all of a sudden loose and serpentine belt had cracks in it. (did I mention that a new belt was installed not more than 2 months ago?). -but not installed by them, so hey look. Let`s cut a few slices in it and try and charge another $230 to get a new one installed. Needless to say I walked-away and that would have been the last time they saw me.
Except I did get a screw in my tire (and since I purchased my tires from PepBoys and had the road hazard on it, might as well go in and get it patched for free. Sounds like a normal plan -WRONG. Well they did patch the hole, all the while the mechanic that was working on it kept asking me for a tip. ""To make sure it`s free.. you can always tip me. I`ll take care of you."" -umm, do your da** job, it`s free already. Then as soon as it came down off the lift he is telling me I REALLY NEED an alignment. Can we say damage scam artist here. It was riding perfectly straight then all of a sudden now it needs an alignment. He never even drove my vehicle to check (and no, there was not uneven wear on the tires). So he purposely misaligned it while under it, to ensure it would need more work. Now a covered tire repair is an $80 fix. Parts Manager Is A Joke!

I went to the auto parts department to order front struts and mounting kit for my 2003 L200 Saturn. The parts manager Kristopher looked up the kit and could not find the kit I needed and referred to Car Quest. I said you want me to travel to go these parts & his response was theres nothing I can do. As unhappy as I was I went to retrieve my car keys back from maintence and service department. So if you need you car serviced Nick is the guy for you! As far as the parts manager, he needs more training on learning all parts. I do NOT recomend Kristopher the parts manager!

This Pep Boys offers no ""fast"" repairs

I normally don`t go to Pep Boys for oil change. This time my car has more serious problems with the power steering and transmission so I took my car in last Saturday. They diagnosed the problems and gave me a list of problems to be fixed. The total bill is about $1000. For the major fixes, the price seemed fair. But for regular maintenance items they are definitely overpriced. For example, Pep Boys charges $34 for an... view more oil change, $80 alignment, etc. You will be better off doing oil change at Sears or Walmart. I normally do my alignment with Big O Tire once a year when I got my tires done and my Big O Tire gives me a discount automatically on alignment so it costs only $50. More importantly this Pep Boys is poorly managed. The service rep who I had been working with told me they needed a part from the Nissan dealership so they had to hold my car from Saturday till Monday so they could get the part. On Monday the exact service rep wasn`t in so no one ordered the part! I called a few times and got a different story each time. So I called the dealership to verify that they actually have my part IN STOCK. Had Pep Boys ordered it, they would`ve gotten it the same day. Now it is Tuesday Pep Boys is saying they just ordered the part and they will fix my car later today. Still no promise on when it can be done. I couldn`t go to work today because they couldn`t deliver as promised. I won`t recommend this Pep Boys to anyone.
