Reviews:
I had a horrible experience at Saul`s Automotive. I needed a new distributor, and initially, the diagnostic and explanation of what needed to be done was great. It was after the labor was completed that I had several problems. After picking up my car and trying to drive it one mi, I realized that my car was no longer shifting. I was told to bring it back and he would look at it because they didn`t test drive it a... view morefter the repair. Who fixes a car and then doesn`t drive it to see if it`s running properly? Anyway, he fixed the problem pretty quickly after blaming it on the tow truck driver performing an improper tow.
Fast forward to the next morning, and my car barely started. I thought I would give it a day to see if things just needed to adjust. The next day came and my car began stalling in traffic, and at one point, the engine stopped and I had to re-start my car in the middle of a busy street (I drive an automatic). This was on a Saturday, so I called to tell him what was going on. He said he would be there until 6 PM and to bring it in anytime. I showed up around 3 PM with my car barely driving at this point. After I arrived I was informed that Saul had left to go downtown. Not only would he not be returning until the next morning, he wouldn`t answer any of my phone calls as he clearly forgot that I was coming in. He did have someone on hand who attempted to fix the problem, but couldn`t. Then, I was told that they suddenly realized that I had been given a `faulty` part, so they would order another, but it wouldn`t be in until Sunday morning. When I finally brought my car back on Sunday, I was then informed that the part wouldn`t arrive until 1230 PM. This is something that easily could have been conveyed to me the night before or the morning of, but nobody bothered to call me.
The bottom line is that they did end up replacing the part, but I paid full price to bring my car back on four separate occasions. They replaced the `faulty` part "free of charge" and acted as though they were doing me a favor. I shouldn`t have had to pay full price to have my car stop shifting, my engine stop running and to have my car break down in traffic, only to find the mechanic had went out for a night on the town when he told me to come in.
It was a horrible experience and Saul took absolutely no responsibility. First, it was the tow truck driver`s fault and then it was a faulty part, but there was nothing wrong with him not being there when he said he would be or him not test driving the car in the first place to recognize the part was faulty and running on three cylinders to begin with. I can`t imagine going anywhere worse. I could have tinkered with my engine and screwed it up on my own for less time and less money. Find anywhere else.
