I took my car to Breaks Plus in early April of 2012 to get my brakes worked on. They were kind enough to check my serpentine belt. They told me it was cracked, old, and bad for me to drive on. I payed them labor and parts of $100.00 to fix. I was at another auto shop eight months later for an oil change across the street from BP. They told me my serpentine belt had not been changed in YEARS and it needed to be repla... view moreced. I marched next door and they told me that it was a bad product and they could fix it for free. I appreciated that they would do it for free but I did not them to promise me something again and nothing to get done. I simply wanted my money back from the part NOT the labor and they told me no. I talked to the manager and he said go through corp. to see if they could do something about it. The manager ended up calling the district manager and will be sending me a check via mail for my belt. They were polite and helpful but charged me for a service and material that I clearly NEVER received. I sure hope that my brakes are still in good shape but Brakes Plus will never have my business again.

I went to this Brakes Plus location because my son checked out the comments here online. Our family of 4 were on vacation 1500 miles from home (Niagara Falls Canada) when the air conditioning compressor quit on my 2001 Honda Civic on July 4th 2011. I knew I could not make it home without getting it fixed right away. Unless you have ever been in this situation you can only imagine how stressful that is. I took the car... view more in at 8 AM July 5th 2011 and had it diagnosed. I got the estimate which was no more than what it would have cost me to have it fixed by my own mechanic. Bob the service manager said they could start fixing it right away. I said go ahead and asked how long it would take, and he said it would be done between 11 AM and noon. He also offered to shuttle us back to the motel for free ... to this Brakes Plus location because my son checked out the comments here online. This is the best service I have ever got from any garage I have ever dealt with, and we all got home safely as a result with no further worries. Thanks to all the guys who treated us like royalty. I will always remember it.

Be very careful when using this place to perform work on your car. We took our Impala to have an alignment done. We were told that it would need camber adjustment bolts and were billed $243.83 for the chamber adjustment kit and alignment. The car continued to pull to the right. I put the car on a rack and took a look at the shocks to see if the chamber bolts were put in. To my surprise, the had not been. I then ins... view morepected the tire rod ends and found that they had no signs of even being loosened. Even though I am an ASE Certified Tech myself, I decided to give the shop the benefit of the doubt and I took my vehicle to another shop and they confirmed my findings and found that the car had not been aligned. I then contacted Brakes Plus and nonchalantly informed them that the car was still pulling to the right. They stated they would look at it. I dropped it off and got a call back hour later saying that the alignment was fine and that it was tire wear. Hearing this solidified my belief that the shop was untrustworthy. I immediately called Visa, cancelled the payment, and took my car to another shop where the work was done right. Sadly, Brakes Plus needs to realize that some customers are certified and know what they are doing. In my case, I am a ASE Master Technician and just didn`t have the time nor the facility to do the alignment myself.

Great guys!
These guys go out of their way to take care of me and my car. They are super friendly, honest, and Bob the store manager is always smiling! I have been going here for 4 years and they are the best around!

Shame on You
I have a vehicle that was serviced by Break Plus 1 month ago. The service received from the North Nevada store was a new timing belt and water pump. The technician failed to tighten the bolts on the water pump which caused it to leak anti-freeze on the timing belt in addition he attached the wiring harness on the wrong side of the bracket thus resulting in it being shredded by the timing belt. The manager Bob of t... view morehe store admitted these mistakes were made but refuses to pay for a new wiring harness because we were not the ones to take the vehicle into the store and because we choose to have the Toyota Dealership do the work. Bob suggested we go against what the dealership suggest (replacement of the harness due to the degree of damage)and try to repair the harness even though if the repair were to fail the vehicle would not run thus possibly leaving myself and two children stranded. Mike Leonard the District Manager told me it was just a bad situation and that it was unfortunate but Brakes Plus does not have any OBLIGATION to correct the problem. So much for doing what is right and honest. They admitted there technician screwed up which resulted in over $2000 in damage to a vehicle but refuse to fix it because we are the second party. Shame on you Brakes Plus!!!!!!!!!!!!!
