Never taking my car back to Astro

Never taking my car back to Astro because they were just bad at repairing my car...aka their job. Took my Buick Lesabre in last December for hard warm starts and stalls at low RPMs. Astro was sure they`d found the problem after checking the computer and replaced my ICM for $400 (among other repairs I had them do, I spent just over $1,000). About 5-6 weeks later the car starts doing the exact same thing so I take i... view moret back to Astro and not only do they charge me again just for bringing my car in, they also tell me I need another $325 in repairs. I immediately took my car to another auto repair place, UPON VISUAL INSPECTION, they found a 6"" rubber hose going to the ICM was rotted out and they fixed it free of charge...This made me realize that Astro may be full of `technicians` who can read what the vehicle`s computer says is wrong but lack common car repair sense to do much else...Astro will never receive another penny of my money and I will continue to tell neighbors in Baker about this bad experience. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere that has actual car mechanics.

True Pros

I had an air conditioner that was leaking freon. I took it to the local Firestone and they ended up needing to replace the AC unit. The next day I was heading to the mountains for a weekend and the engine wasn`t delivering power and acted like it wanted to shut down when it was pushed. I took to to 4 different shops who all gave me quotes that ranged from $800 to $1,500 to fix the problem. The issue was, is that ... view morenone of the other guys could confirm what the issue actually was or that their fix would work. Finally, a shop owner looked at me and said, ""Go to Astro Automotive, they are where we take our cars when we can`t diagnose the problem"". I took my car to Astro and they not only figured the solution (bend hose from a sloppy install job at firestone) but they only charged me $80 bucks and gave me a loner car too!!! I won`t take my car anywhere else.

Seemed honest and trustworth but turned out sour grapes.

Odd, I`m usually a great judge of character and integrity, but I just got it dead wrong here. I made the call after reading the Yelp reviews and getting a helpful technician on the phone who said they could fix my car ""no problem."" I have a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica and it was having electric problems so they said they`d check it out and get it fixed. A plus I must give Astro is that they were able to take the car on ... view moreshort notice the same day. I brought the car down and dropped it off, they said they would call later that afternoon but I never heard back. At 4:30 I called and they said come down it would be ready. Upon arriving, they said it was just a simple dead battery that was the culprit and they had changed it out. The total, a whopping $200 for a battery change. Aghast, I shook my head, plopped down my plastic and informed the people at the place that they had just lost a serious customer, and I was in fact going to have a 100,000 mile service done on my van along with a 60,000 mile service on the Chrysler if they had treated me well. Instead they went for the quick, shortsighted cash-out on a $60 battery, and I won`t be going back. Very disappointed.

Not good

Replaced parts that THEY diagnosed as the problem but it did not correct the problem I was charged anyway and told it would cost several hundred more to actually fix the problem the car was brought in for in the first place

BEST JEEP REPAIR SHOP!!

Take my word for it...then google this shop. Highly recommended by Colorado Jeep 4x4 club. They are AWESOME mechanics. Prices are right. Communication on the hour...speedy service. Will definitely return. Pros: Great customer service, friendly mechanics...A++ Cons: A little hard to find at first...but worth it. Just google Map address

Great place to get your car aligned!

I took my car in for an alignment. The tires were wearing funny. They aligned it. Lo and behold the car rode like it did when it was new. I never really knew how bad my car was out of alignment!
