Only what ""I"" need... Guaranteed!!!!!
My family and I have been going to this grease monkey for the past decade. its still locally owned by the same guy and his staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable. lets face it their is no such thing as a ""Ten Minute Oil Change"" ( i was in a jam and on the way out of town an needed a QUICK oil change. pulled into a competitors shop close to where i work downtown an within TEN mins was out the door an on my... view more way. BIG MISTAKE!!!! I had an uneasy feeling as the mechanic told me everything was alright and my vehicle was sound and ready for travel without needing any services. i wasn`t even in the waiting room for more than a few minutes when my truck was ready to go. now im no mechanic but im no dummy either, to change the oil and filter top off all fluids and check the tires on my 1999 ford escape takes longer than five minutes! but i trusted them an off i went. i returned home to finish packing and round up the family to start our road trip. as my wife locked up the house and walked towards the truck she said their was some liquid under the truck. i immediately crawled under an could see the entire frame was covered in oil and dripping from the oil drain bolt. not happy i called the store where I had the oil changed and was told by the manager it was nothing but some extra oil from where they had removed the bolt and re-installed it. ( their was a ""puddle"" of oil under my truck and it had been hrs sense the oil change! ) i lifted the hood and to my shock the oil cap was laying next to the windshield washer bottle! not wanting to drive all the way back downtown i went to my neighborhood grease monkey. i was greeted by a friendly face and a familiar voice. i explained the situation and was told it would be a few min before they could pull it in. as i sat in the waiting room with other customers the owner made small talk with everyone, making it feel like a familiar watering hole. Here?ˆ™s what makes this place so unique?ˆ¦ this short, stocky, bald guy walks into the waiting room and asks who is driving a particular car, a woman answers back and he proceeds to tell her she ?ˆ?not?ˆ? ready for an oil change an she has a few hundred miles before its due. WOW!! Are you kidding me! He could have easily taken advantage of her an done it anyway but the guy was so honest. This woman was so grateful and promised to return when her mileage was closer. This just confirms why I should keep returning to this location and never, NEVER stray again! My truck was pulled into the bay and the same guy opened the door and took me back. This isn?ˆ™t my first time here and I know the retune, this shop brings everyone back to show them any services they need. Never pushy and always honest!!! The mechanic informed me that the oil filter and drain bolt were loose an that he had already tightened and filled it with oil and cleaned the oil off the bottom. He also mentioned the air filter box was ?ˆ?not?ˆ? closed all the way an that he secured it like it should be. He insured me everything was ok for my trip now and even said he re-checked all the fluids an FILLED them to proper levels while I watched ( shouldn?ˆ™t the other shop have done this? The tires were even low!) feeling satisfied and very safe for my trip I offered to pay for his services but he refused and told me not to worry about it an that everybody makes mistakes (he was referring to the other shop) ?ˆ?it probably wasn?ˆ™t intentional?ˆ?. what a guy!?ˆ¦ he fixed someone elses screw up and didn?ˆ™t even bad mouth them. These guys are great an they treat every car like its their own. See what 10 minutes get you!!! never again will i trust my vehicle to anybody else but the crew at 26th and Sheridan. This is a local shop an you get treated like family, not the newest looking place but ?ˆ?NO?ˆ? ten minute rule and every vehicle gets their full attention. good job guys an thanks! Oh- an the road trip went great !!!!!!

Beware of this scamming shop!
Reliable Grease Monkey shop... Wrong!

I`ve been a regular Grease Monkey customer for over 20 years; primarily in Westminster and Arvada cities. I recently moved to NW Denver, so I took my car into this shop for a full service oil change. It was the biggest mistake of my car`s life. I was second in line to arrive and yet I still had to wait 30 minutes before my car was pulled into the garage. Afterwards, an... view moreother 20 minutes. Turns out, they only had one ""technician"".

Upon completion, the owner of the shop told me the air filter could not be changed, because of ""breather hose damage"". Whatever that means. Then he told me they did not participate in the AAA Auto Club discount, but he offered $2 off. After paying $37.52, I left with a terrible feeling in my stomach, and I felt I needed assurance that my car was sound after that experience. I could easily see that my car did not get the full service treatment. No fluids topped, no tire air pressure check, no interior vacuuming, no nothing!

I immediately drove north to my trustworthy Grease Monkey shop on 80th & Federal. I was greeted with a friendly face and they (all four technicians) immediately serviced my car. Luckily, I followed my instincts, because they discovered the oil gasket was not replaced (missing). Furthermore, they easily changed the air filter. I was recognized as a valued customer and they only charged me $20 for the air filter. Now that`s the Grease Monkey I know and love.

Now I can`t help but wonder if the oil was even changed at the 26th & Sheridan Grease Monkey. The lip service they provided was contrary to the actual car service. The lack of service is nothing more than a scam. I should have suspected there was something wrong with that shop by the lack of local traffic.

Beware of this shop. If you care for your car and your safety on the road, then avoid this shop by all means.
