They refused to plug the tire and honor the coupon but did offer to sell us a new tire (the tire is 2 months old!)
Against better judgement (and for a sake of time) we decided to get an oil change while we were there before we left for vacation. 45 minutes later the guy comes back and gives us the old, ""your air filter, belts, brakes, and tires all need replacing."" The equivelant of going to the rite aid to pick up tylenol and the clerk telling you that you have 3 days to live. unbelievable.
We gladly thanked them for the once over but we`ll stick with the oil change for today.
Aparently the guy must have got repermanded for not ""pitching us well enough on the upsell"" so we got the closer to come in and hit us up again for tires. We were there for over an hour in what seemed like a time share sales pitch! Finally I literally had to scream to get the guy to listen, ""please ring us up for the sake of everything holy!""
As for our coupon, they said nope. I asked if another shop plugs our tire, can i get reimbursed, nope. So their ""free tire plug"" coupon is just a scam to get someone in to pitch them on tires.
On a side note, their district manager was there holding a meeting, which might have why the local mgr was so hell bent on upselling us something! The DM had the nerve to sit there with his office door wide open telling the ""team"" that they needed to order 60% Nappa parts so that Napa will up their sponsorship from $250,000 to $1mil. When the poor guy said well, the Napa rep is a jerk and they are more expensive, the DM tells him ""do you best."" The employee asked, that they are more expensive and he was told we jack up the price to the stores but we really dont pay that amount internally. It was pretty comical and all in all summed up a pretty shady business.
Sorry for the long verbage, Oh and they didn`t ring up my coupon for the oil change (and certianly didn`t honor the free plug). Oil change $112. Parts $90 (hopefully for the sake of the District Manager they used a filter from NAPA)
if anyone runs into a oil change place on the east side of the valley that are NOT a bunch of crooks, please let me know
