Finally, an honest auto mechanic in Van Nuys!

After Jiffy Lube broke my sensor, the ""check engine"" light turned on and I couldn`t get anyone to look at my car. Honda dealerships and auto parts stores wanted to charge me over $100 just to do a ""diagnostic"" even though I could point out the hose that broke off and was hanging loose. Wtf? I guess that`s how they make money. THANKFULLY my boyfriend`s dad recommended General Tire, whose owner Gary is nothing b... view moreut nice and helpful. He looked at my car this morning and said that he can glue it back together for about $50. It took two hours and now my car is good as new. They even fixed my broken visor! Thank you, Gary and General Tire, for being so honest and helpful! P.S. They also do oil changes here.

Excellent and honest service at low prices

I was referred to Gary the owner at this place when I was out of work and needed to get my car repaired. My friend who referred me spoke very highly of this place as he too was referred here. The bottom line: Gary is an honest mechanic, who doesn`t lie about what`s wrong with the vehicle to get extra business. He also charges among the lowest prices around and he repairs vehicles in a day or so. The ultimate tes... view moretament to anyone`s business dealings is if they get referrals. This place lives on them. When I was there, I met a guy who getting his car fixed who`s a LA County Sherriff Deputy and he recommends this place to his fellow deputies. There aren`t too many honest car repair shops and mechanics out there, but this place and Gary is one of them. It`s kinda hard to find because it`s in a row of repair shops, but look for General Tire behind the Walgreen`s drugg store right on the corner of Van Nuys Blvd. and Sherman Way.
